I think you're overvaluing him in the current trade market, ESPECIALLY the teams they've been allegedly talking to. I dont think we'll get much immediate help, more on the prospect side of things.
But if he is traded, I think its cause the owners knew they wouldnt pick up his option, and just want SOMETHING out of it. Whether it costs us this season or not.

Yeah, the bull-pen is becoming a little iffy... we gotta change that chemistry up a bit. But Dalla's got a point, the current trade market doesn't sound all that great right now.

Manny's gotta stop thinking so much about what team he's on & start thinking "High-light reel"... and not just HR's. This new Agent of his is FUCKING it all up.

Nixon was my home-boy, that guy loved to play hard.

ownership has been messing with him since day 1... lets be honest with ourselves... he HAS been instrumental every time we go to the playoffs, Ortiz statistically plays BETTER when Ramirez is in the line up. Coco crisp couldn't have beat out that throw the other night and regardless of Manny being Manny he knows when to hustle and when not too. As goofy as he can be, he can play. I just can't wait till THIS trades bites us in the arse. Lets trade him to the yankees and see what happens. Then everyone will wish we kept him.

Maybe when he leaves, the Sox batting helmets will be clean.

So wait, they're paying 200 MILLION DOLLARS in player salaries this year, and things arent serious? Right wrong or indifferent, its the way things are.

Yeah Red, this isn't little leauge. Trying your best just doesn't cut it (especially if you suck).
And for the record, Manny's attitude is so post-Madonna.

there should be a few zeros taken off of baseball players salaries...anyway, what I can't stand most about sports like baseball is that this shit happens while people are making millions of dollars. Way to be a 'great athlete' and not even give 100% while you are making millions....fuckin gay

    Youkkkk Talk about solid.
Pe-De is the hardest working short stop.
J.D. Who? Should have stuck with Trot
Lowell just gets it done no matter what.
El cap I ton. Tek rules the plate.
    Jacoby Ellsbury The quiet hustler.
Should have kept Cabrea on 2nd and Alex Cora finally is getting his shot.
    Popy the teddy bear
Fanny Ramirez --yea another word for ass. Just ask my wife what I have been calling him for years.

The pitches alone have enough personality to create 3 teams.

Team harmony is what makes things work. If there is a busted sprocket it is time to replace it so the whole machine works seamlessly.

Im actually looking to see JD Drew to step up. He did well when Ortiz went out, I think if we change the batting line up a little we can still have a damn good offense. Defensivly we wont miss anything, We will probably get better.

Anyone on the team will tell you that he's one of the hardest working players on the team. Sure, he's quirky. He takes the time to high five fans WHILE making incredible plays, but that's just him. Most of the great players in history were quirky.

The only time his performance suffers is when he's unhappy. I hate to say it, but you need to let Manny be Manny. He's possibly one of the best hitters this game has seen, but he's got a very zen-like aspect to him when he's on. One of the reasons he hits so well is that he's relaxed and comfortable at the plate. He's got a mental edge. He loses that when management steps in and starts telling him how to play. I just think its a shame to see talent like that wasted because he doesn't fit into the mold of what a pro ball player should look like. Neither did Babe Ruth. He was a bit of a bad boy in his time. If you want a bunch of players looking alike, not having individual personalities and strictly playing for a paycheck and a win, go watch the Yankees.
This is only kind of "Zen" Manny knows

I have to unfortunately fall on my sword and say I agree. But he is still no Trot. Trot was a much better outfielder. Even Brian Daubach was much better than Drew in the outfield. those guys.

HIs bat would be missed but to be honest I am sick of the bullshit in all of sports. These players are being paid insane money and they can't even step up and be mature role models! Let him go get his 20mil off of some other suckers.

Too much time, energy and focus on him.
NT650 nailed it by pointing out how strong the team is. I do think JD has stepped up this year. Don't agree that we have a good short stop in any of the three; Lugo, Corra or Lawrie. I once thought that Corra was the pick but no so sure now. I think the bullpen is strong with the exception of Wake (sorry not a fan). Masterson was a huge addition, impressive. Dump Manny, Move Corra out to replace Manny and pick up a solid short stop. Call it a season no matter how we finish. Unfortunatley Manny will be the focus of this years high light reel no matter what.
