So I just signed up yesterday for Netflix. Im astonished at how many DVD's they have. Im gonna like seeing all the crap I missed. Looks like my TV time will be increased....
2008 Ebony Special Edition ZX-6R
1995 ZX-6 Red (SOLD)
One of the best things ever! Enjoy it.
On the flip side of it, I have a neighbor at one of my stores who is a video rental store and she is going out of business. Her downfall she said was Netflix.
Alot of the local blockbusters closed. They claimed netflix as well. But im thinking thier 5+ dollars for a 3 day rental and how out of the way it was to rent and return with insane rental fee's and late fees was their downfall had they lengthened the rental time or lowered the fees it may have been different.
it's very hard to get a customer back after you alienate them with bogus/high fees and poor service. Once blockbuster lost it's customers, not much they could do to get them back, even if they did try and pull a netflix.
I like the idea of Netflix, I didn't watch the movies consistently enough to warrant the monthly subscription. The streaming is a good idea, but they have *none* of the current popular movies on it, so it's pretty much a waste unless you like watching old episodes of TV.
I had the Bolckbuster moviepass; $23/mo and unlimited rentals (one at a time). I just was not watching enough movies. Like 3 a month.
I cancelled and got netflix for like $9/mo. Now I get a movie in, WATCH IT LEGALLY, and send it back!![]()

imo blockbuster got what they deserved...
have you really looked at netflix's selection? if not, i think you will be surprised, they have a ton of great movies. They arent the newest release but they have all the classics from Maltese Falcon to all the presidents men to goodfellas and everything in between.
I get do teh $8.99 option and get the new releases sent to me 1 at a time and stream everything else...
anyone ever try game fly for video games? heard a lot of positive about netfilx for dvds but looking for something to do some video game rentals without paying some high prices of the stores.
So I get me first 3 movies in yesterday, they are in the mailbox waiting for me when I get home! Psyched...The return envelope is cool. I diggin this Netflix thing!
So I popped in Office Space and proceede to laugh my ass off AGAIN!!
I have gamefly. Its been the single biggest killer of my social life since the xbox itself. Its perfect for those games you know you wont drop 60 bucks on for a couple hours of fun, mainly the ATV games for me, things like that. Plus if you get a game in that you would'nt have bought, then decide to keep it, you can buy it for less than it would cost new. (Usually 50-55 bucks for brand new games, I have COD:WaW right now and itd cost me 40 bucks to keep)
The one complaint I have. VERY VERY hit or miss, despite what their website says. I've had 10 games in my queue, with at least a high or medium availablity status, and they've sent me the absolute last game on the list (obviously the ones you want most are higher). Thats happened a couple times, if it happens again I might call and complain. That said, I've gotten a few games the week they've come out too. You really cant count on it one way or the other.
