Okay, I've tried this before and I'll probably end up wanting to kick myself squarely in the pouch for trying it again. Let's apply a little comprehension to replies. Not trying to be a smartass, just want relevant answers & opinions...
ALL OTHER THINGS BEING EQUAL: in your experience which phone MANUFACTURER has the most reliable coverage reception? Your provider doesn't matter, app's, MODELS, plans, features, etc., are all moot. I just wanna know which MANUFACTURER's phones have provided you with the best reception throughout your given coverage area - again all other things being equal, apples to apples...
EXAMPLE: It's been MY experience that just about any Motorola I've ever had has been tops as far as reception regardless of which plan, model, provider...
LG has been a close second...
My current is the Casio gets relatively shitty reception compared to what I've experience with Motorola & LG. Once again, all other things being equal...
What's been your experience?
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Motorola was tops. I've had two and they were great.
Blackberry second (good reception when it wasn't dropping calls, does that count?)
Erickson third
and my current LG is a turd. Junk in all aspects especially reception, scratch that, reception is not bad, transmitting is horrible. I can hear them, they can't hear me scenario.

Hmmm...this is tough because the good ones are so close. These are the ones I like:
Motorola, Samsung, LG (probably the best but that was a few phones ago) and Blackberry.
1 - Motorola - (by quite a bit)
2 - LG
3 - Samsung

Ir order...greatest to least
1. LG
2. Blackberry
3. HTC
LG's been good for me.
Motorola is a distant second.

In my experience motorola phones are basic enough to be completely reliable yet crash often. Reception has been hit or miss.
Nokia makes an awesome phone.
(these 2 previous examples are from several years ago)
Blackberries get terrible reception
iPhone gets great reception (dropped calls aside which is a SP issue not a phone issue)
The two windows phones I had always had a delay between the voice and the hearing frequencies and very often resulted in an echo during calls.

blackberry (on verizon network) has been my best experience
Motorola phones tend to be very good but usually drain their battery faster
Samsung is pretty good (my gf reports no issues...and she would)
I'd agree that all else aside, Motorola phones tend to have the best reception -- I should hope so because Motorola's background is as a radio manufacturer. Not all models are equally good though -- I had a Motorola Q smartphone for a while that had mediocre reception (and was terrible in every other respect).
The LG I had at one point sucked, but that was a long time ago and they may have improved their quality.

truly sorry if this is not what you are looking for, but i have found no 'norms' of quality that are definable by manufacturer, only norms of predictability of service per protocol/provider.
CDMA (Verizon & sprint) > GSM (ATT & Tmo)
now that being said, I notice many areas up north (north of MA) where ATT has significantly better market penetration than anyone else
sorry if this qualifies as being off topic..
Get out while you can

Motorola has been doing high quality 2 way coms for longer than almost anybody, I remember the Motorola in my dad's (phone) company truck he brought home at night, 62 International 3/4 ton w' tool box, telephone was a motorola, suitcase size radio bolted behind the seat and a rather large pushbutton phone bolted to the dash, the push buttons were on touch tone, they sent out a rotary dial pulse, ringer had a 3 way switch, off, bell, truck horn
I've only owned 2 cell phones, the motorola lived up to expectations, the nokia sucked

My current Moto is good, and the Razer I had a few years ago was pretty good. I think Nokia is right up there at the top, their phones are of high quality too. The LG I had was a little behind all those. I also had a Siemens that was on par with the LG.
iPhone
Blackberry
LG
Had samsung and motorola ... Hated em

If you ain't first......you're last!
In my experience, my Blackberry's have gotten the best reception over any other phones.
Now I have a Motorola while my wife still has a Blackberry. There have been a few instances where I do not have any reception in our apartment when she still does. But I still get very good reception with the Motorola.
It seems to be a largely subjective topic, but that's been my experience.

My last 3 phones have been Samsungs. They just work.

I've only got experience with Motorola (limited), LG, and Samsung. I think Motorola and Samsung were pretty close and I've been happy with both...my wife really likes LG phones. The Cosmos she has now isn't too bad, but the shitty reception on most of them have made me wish I could throw them if the fuggin' Ammonoosuc river.
My experience is only with Verizon.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
My primary concern is reception at home. Again though, not withstanding other variables. That is, my wife's Moto gets incredible reception at the house as did any Moto I've had. With my Casio, reception at the house has always been hit or miss, same with Samsung. I've also had great reception with LG's - again, all with the same provider, all with the same plan. The ONLY thing that changed for us was phones...
So yeah, I went with LG this time around. Lay it side-by-side with my old Casio & Big Shirl's Moto & sure as shit, 4 bars while the Casio is in & out. The new Samsung we got for my daughter is between 1 & 2 bars - hers doesn't matter so much...
Thanks to those that replied & gave opinions I was looking for...
