Is there a good and bad time of year to buy tickets for an international flight? I've heard prices are less in the winter vs summer prices, even if the trip will be in the summer?
Also, what's the best place to find the best prices? I've only checked expedia.com so far.
Thanks

Typically, start of Fall (i.e July and August), Christmas, and start of Summer (April, May) are a bit on the higher side for international travel. Also depends on which country you are looking to travel to.
For international travel, travel agents may have better rates. Also check kayak.com
Really depends where your going and what the popular times are. I go to India with the family and tickets are high in the summer and again in February.
Also look for deals on Monday night & Tuesday postings...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Cheapest rates to Europe are normally Feb and ealy March, you can search on some sites using flexible dates (Travelocity?) which will let you find the best deal.
Rumor has it now is the cheapest because the airlines are planning to have a big increase in flights. I have heard $100-150 per flight.
I use travelocity and have had good luck with them. The only problem is if you buy cheap tickets too far in advance the airlines will change your flights whenever they feel like it. I have had them change flights 2 and 3 times before my trips when I book about 9 months in advance. They never changed the days, just times and flights. Sometimes increasing my flying times by 4 hours.
You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
try vayama.com, they specialize in international flights...used them multiple times with excellent results (price and ease of use/no complications)
Thanks for the advice so far. Yes, it's a flight to Europe.
The prices from travelocity and expedia are exactly the same from what I've seen, travelocity shows prices before taxes..etc, and expedia displays total price. Today, they are $400 less than they were last month?

go to kayak.com
put in your dates for flights
hit return.. next screen on the left side shows you a fare tracker and the general price of the flight over the last 2 months or so and future.
you can also break up and see on a calendar different prices for different departures and arrivals.
hmmmm......
