    Taking scuba diving class!

Man, am I scared...LOL Man God is sending me to take a trial class for scuba diving on Friday, and if I'm still alive after the experience, we'll both take the classes to get certified. I'm a little worried I'll have a hard time breathing in that thing... We're going to Florida in April, and he want us to go scuba dive...ick!

    It's a blast!

It is good to get hobbies that you can do together. Just make sure you do it a few times on your own so he knows you enjoy it and you're not just doing it to appease him. Women who have lives and interests of their own kick ass!

    Taking scuba diving class!

Finally , ANOTHER diver in NESR... I've been diving for 28 years , gotten my Master Diver certification and can't tell you how great a sport it is . Above all , just relax and enjoy the sensation of breathing underwater and being weightless .

I've been diving from Comet Pond in Hubbardston to the lagoons of Tahiti and Bora Bora and about a hundred stops in between . If I can be of any help , dont hesitate to ask .

    Welcome aboard...

I will get it all together and get back to ya. It is basicaly everything you need besides the basics, mask, snorkel, fins, booties, gloves. I have a pic somewhere and I would sell it cheap. I don't plan on going diving anymore. This stuff has been sitting and it all looks like new. ALL of the gear would need to be gone through before it was used for obvious reasons, and the tank needs a hydro test, it's still full of air.

I have been diving for 3 or so years. I am up to Advanced Open Water.

As long as you take your class through PADI, you will be all set. They have a great program.

Cool I have my advance open water. I know what you mean; I've been on some sweet dives. Dove with reef sharks while they were being fed in Bahamas, a night dive in Hawaii and saw tons of manta rays, as well as countless dives in the Caribbean (Barbados, Costa Rica, St. Thomas, etc.) One of the-and possibly only-positive things about going to Mass. Maritime Academy is you get to see some neat places. It seems like there might be several divers lurking about....it would be nice to setup a NESR dive when the weather gets warmer

Thanks Bentbryan! My main concern right now is about my hyperventilation and nervousness. I'm a pussy, but I have to try. I was much less worried when it was time to learn how to ride a motorcycle. There is something about being under water with no air (if the tank fail to do it's job) that makes me very uncomfortable. Usually I'm not the type to let my fears stop me and I will at least try it and do my best to succeed...I have been trying to find someone to go take the trial class with me, because Man God can't come with me for lack of babysitter on such short notice...(this is this coming Friday).

    Thanks for the encouragement everyone!
