The snake that got chewed up under the hood of the car is a Boa Constrictor. That is not a snake native to anywhere in the USA. It was most likely a pet that escaped from someones home and met its most unfortunate demise...poor thing. But, I get what you're sayin, Ben. We don't have to worry about many of the creatures found in warmer climates...snakes, scorpions, tarantulas, gila monsters, etc...
Reminds me of having to coax a little green snake out of the outdrive of a boat yesterday. I guess he was quite comfortable in there because he didnt wanna come out! We finally got him out (after he shit on someone) and set him free, but he was covered in grease.![]()
what kind of moron doesn't check under their hood for an eight foot long snake before starting the car to go to work. I swear, some people are real idiots.
HA!!! Oddly enough, on summa our lesser used vehicles I *DO* check under the hood (and the exhaust tips) to make sure there's no new 'obstructions' anywhere!Originally posted by hessogood

We just have different kindsa creatures up here to contend with, Ben. Come park your car up at my house for say, a week. See what ends up making temporary housing in certain parts of your car. Or bike!![]()
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Are you sayin that chipmunks store their acorns in your exaust?Originally posted by Stoneman

Bras cause cancer.
You'd be surprised what a racoon can do to a boat!! They eat the upholstery... literally. Imagine having to call your insurance company to get coverage for critter damage.See it all the time, unfortunately. We put moth balls in the boats that are being stored for any amount of time, seems to keep away wildlife looking to shack up in your toys. Something about the smell repels the little suckers. Havent tried it in cars, etc. but I would imagine it would work.

Now that you mention it, I hadta replace the wiring harness in our old boat some years back. Seemed some vermin saw fit to chew it all up...
Kazzin'-fraggin'....

Moth balls and baited "Have A Heart" traps seem to keep them at bay, but there are always a few (out of around 150 boats in storage) that STILL get chowed. And with the traps, that means some lucky schmuck gets the unsavory task of checking them and "relocating" the vermin. The only thing we havent figured out yet is how to get a skunk out of a trap without getting sprayedAnd the neighbors arent exactly thrilled when "Fluffy the family cat" disappears for a day or 2 before we realize there's something in the trap.

The proper place to relocate them is in a barrel full of water while they are in the trap.Originally posted by WastedsWife

Hmmmm, the more I think about it the more I am thinking you guys are right. Boaters arent even supposed to "relocate" the weeds, etc. that may get entangled in their props to another lake. The state of Maine even makes all boaters get a little sticker saying they will not transport weeds from one body of water to another and will check their props while loading their boats on to the trailer.
Yeah you have to pay 20 dollars for a goddamn sticker saying you wont let weeds get on your prop. What a waste of money.Originally posted by WastedsWife
