This should take me 5 minutes to figure out but:
In windows server NT you used to be able to set up a PDC and a BDC and the BDC would mirror the PDC completely.
With the advent on active directory there are no longer PDC's and BDC's, so is there anyway to have a second domain controller mirror the first without the use of third party software?

Yip! Go to McD's and get yourself a BLT. Tell 'em you're a VIP and that you've just set up a BDC to mirror the PDC. You may wanna do that PDQ though, as the MOD may be leaving soon...
Hope it helps!
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Just because you are a server of booze doesn't mean you know anything about servers! and I don't think McD's has BLT's? But I might get one from the sub shop next door for lunch. Yummy.Originally posted by Stoneman

You need to promote the second server to be a domain controller, and it will 'mirror' the controlling abilities of the other server. There are certain roles that still remain tied to the 'master server' but can be transfered to any other domain controller at any time.

I read far to much about clustering today. I need it more for file serving than domain controlling which means I need to do some form of clustering.Originally posted by StumpyNB
