Yep, yesterday I got my first speeding ticket in seven years of driving. In Mass, of course. I was cruising down I-84S just a few miles north of the MA border, doing 85 in a 65 in the middle of the day, straight road, clear visibility, and I got tagged. Cop dropped it down to a 75 in a 65, guess it could have been worse. Damn Massachusetts. Later that day I was on the Jersey Turnpike in the triple digits, and I was getting passed!
So all you Massholes with records a mile long, is it worth fighting this one? What's involved? I'd rather not have points on my license if I can avoid it, but I'm guilty as hell, actually I'm surprised he only got me at 85, I swear I was doing closer to 90![]()
Fight it.
Photo copy the ticket and send it in within 20 days for a hearing.
Send it certified mail or some way you have the receipt of sending it.
If its a radar gun I can Show you how to get out of it ...................
I own one, I know this little secret.
BUT you'll have to subpoena stuff like the link below describes.

Suf Daddy.
Thanks guys, so what is involved in contesting this thing? Do I have to go into Boston? Suf Daddy I'll check out those sites you linked to, does that sort of thing work well? I'd be a bit nervous about trying to get off on a technicality, if I get a judge who doesn't buy it he can slap me with bigger penalties can't he?
Thankfully my return flight...err drive...was less eventful, left NJ today at 2pm so most of it was in the dark, cops seem to prowl more during the daytime![]()
