So I'm looking to get my first tattoo and this weekend seems to be the perfect time for me. Its not going to be very artistically involved but the lines will need to be precise or else it will be noticeable.
I'm located in Southern RI but I'm willing to go further north, just wanted to see if anyone on here had someone they got their work done with and had a good experience, or had places to avoid.
Any other recommendations welcome!
I would hold out for the Tattoo expo and get a better Idea of what artist suits you work to be done...you can see 50-100 really good artists and there work up close and personal. Then pick one....
and Tattoo's are so 1980's geez

Art Freek on wickendon st in pvd, and anchor steam in npt are THE places to go for sailor Jerry type flavor. Fred smith in npt does a little darker (art) more modern stuff really well.

It isn't in RI but I just had my right arm (half sleeved) from Jeff @ Mayhem Ink
in Nashua and he did phenomenal line work. He did a lot of freehand and am
very happy with the end result.
anchor steam in NPT. I know tons of people who swear by that place

Iron Hand Tattoo in Cranston, at least one or possibly two of the guys from Renaissance Andrew and Kevin opened this place last year.

RI has many talented artists, but these guys would be my top two choices locally.
Got it a little bigger than I originally anticipated, but I'm happy with it!

Came out great dude
Not so much an overall meaning as a connection/feeling. When I was a kid I had no problem staring at a globe/map/atlas for hours, as I got older I've done as much traveling as possibly I can, whenever I can afford it. As an Ocean Engineering major I'm developing a deeper appreciation for the areas between the continents, the unexplored.
Recently I've been finding myself wanting some kind of tattoo but the more I thought about it, the harder time I had finding something that I could connect to. When I saw images of an outline like this, I immediately knew that that was what I wanted and I knew where I wanted it (I had previously considering my calf/lower leg for another design, I didn't think about upper body areas, but it seemed right.)
Thanks! I'm happy with it!
Congrats, man. The great thing about tattoos is that they are often personal and mean/represent something. Are you going to leave it as an outline?

Rookie tattoo questions, I want to get something done with a celtic design. Does anyone no of shops that have experience in celtic tattoo's?
Can I just print a design from the web and bring that with me? Also I have no idea what shops charge? Is it by the hour?
