My parents are in town from the uk for a couple of weeks. What's their best option for a cellphone while they are here? They would leave it in the us for when they visit. Minimum calls. Just occasional use.

I have a spare verizon phone they can use. If you don't need to buy a phone maybe you can activate it just when you need?

Thanks for all the suggestions. They bought a phone at walmart for $15 and it comes with $10 credit on it. $0.99 per day if you use it that day. Flip phone, camera and everything. Amazing.
