When I got my expired inspection ticket, I went online about 2 -3 days later to pay it on the RMV website. I got a confirmation number from the transaction, and then I got an email with this message:
Citation Number (M392****) does not exist on the RMV's computer
for one of the following reasons:
* The Citation number you entered is incorrect. Please verify that the
number you entered is correct. If the number was incorrect please
resubmit or
* Your Citation number has not been entered onto the RMV's computer.
Please contact the Telephone Center immediately to have the citation
information and payment entered by a telephone center representative.
I did check the number, and it was correct. So no mistake on my part. Is it possible that the cop "lost" my citation or forgot to forward it to the RMV? Or does it takes a few days for him to get in the system?![]()
