fwiw, I've sold things to friends with a nice friendly discount under the assumption that they would actually keep and ENJOY the item, not turn around and sell it for profit.

if I knew they woulda done that I woulda kept it and found a buyer willing to pay fair market price instead of let a friend take money out of my pocket so they could make a buck.

I buy a few bikes in the winter to part out or resell and occasionally they come from local forums and their members. With the way the online motorcycle community works it's almost inevitable that someone either knows the previous owner or even the bike itself.

I don't see a problem giving someone an amount they're comfortable with, while intending to make some back on the back end; but I do think it's important to let the seller know your intentions. As much as a bike is just an object, some people don't appreciate anyone making a profit of their personal property- regardless if they no longer own it or not.

There will always be people who say 'If I had the money...' or 'I would have bought it...' or 'You should have done this...'; but the bottom line is if you snooze you lose. Whomever bought it got a great deal.

Sigh...haven't been around the forum much, come back, and there are still know it alls that have no idea. I didn't realize it was against the rules to post admiration on the bikes out there? Bumps the thread for the seller and gives props to the bike right? OK, Might be an idea to mind you business .

By the way, with this bike I rode it for a full track-day, and offered to purchase it from Mike for over 2k in November, he felt it was worth more than that at the time. Hence the reason I was surprised he wouldn't shoot a message asking if the offer to purchase for much more money still stood before offering it for $1500.00.

I don't recall getting this PM and going back to look for it shows that I didn't get it. The last one I received from you was saying you were looking more for
$2000 plus the gsxr for the Z. Which I didn't think either my bike was worht that little or your bike was worth that much.
