So I tucked this trackbike away in the back of the garage about 10 years ago, shortly after my daughter was born, wishfully hoping to one day get back on the track. It was a good bike, took me from a newbie in beginner group to running advanced group with NESBA (ha, anyone remember them?) from 2005 to 2011. Then a couple months ago it started leaking gas and stinking up the garage so I busted it out of storage and got to work. Found the gas line between the tank and pump had deteriorated enough to leak, fixed that and while I was at it put a new petcock on the tank. Found the front calipers seized up, bought a new seal kit and fixed those (new fluid and pads installed as well).
Bike ran great 10 years ago when put away, but now not so much. It fires up and idles, but its a little rough. I rode down the street and back last night, it rides and shifts fine. The gas smelled bad when I drained the tank so I'm sure the carbs need a good service (that's beyond my capabilities). In all honesty it probably needs the carbs cleaned, oil change, coolant flush, and new tires to be track worthy.
A couple items to note:
Elka rear shock
Scotts steering damper
New battery
The previous owner bought a blank frame from Kawasaki and swapped over the parts from a crashed street bike, so this bike has no title and no VIN number on the frame
Sharkskins bodywork, pretty good shape
Woodcraft rearsets
2nd set of rims with shagged rains mounted
Odometer reads 25,xxx miles
Some spares (2 extra tanks, RAM air intakes, a couple little things)
I'll throw in the stands too if you want them (Pitbull rear and crappy front stand)
Bike is locate about 1 hour north of Albany NY (Saratoga area).
Its a 19 year old bike that hasn't been on the track in 10+ years, I'm open to reasonable offers.
Forum rules says my thread needs a price, I'd love to get $1200 for it so lets start there.
Let me know if anyone has questions or wants pics.
Pics please.
