I just put up my DR650, aka "Rusty", for sale. It is located in the Newton area of Boston. Many mods, 27k miles, rough looking, but great riding. Asking $3k. I want to get a lighter/smaller dual sport, maybe a 250 like a super sherpa, xt250, crf250L. Her is a link with the CL post and all the mods.

Glws. I sold mine and bought a wr250 to get into trail riding more. Trust me, you want that bike over the Honda or a Sherpa. You'll be much happier.

I'm 5'7.5" and all of about 145 lbs. More importantly, I am a total newbie when it comes to off road. So, looking for smaller bike. Given that I will not have time to go often and have three kids, I'd like something that I could also use reliable on my 5 mile commute to work in the city in order to keep the bike running. Lastly, would like to be able to go up to 70 mph to get to a trail. I do think the WR would be great, but I'd need the yamalink and a lowered seat to be comfortable. Plus, I'd need to add a good deal more $$$ to my DR.
I'm 5'8" and 160 with a 30" inseam. Yama link is great and there's another inch of adjustability in the suspension. Bike is stock except for gearing and armore. I'm still a newbie to off road and the WR leaves plenty of room to grow. FI makes it easy to live with. It will give you 60 mpg if you don't flog it.
Anyway I don't want to wreck your fs thread. Do consider the WR though.
Also, if your buyer wants a large tank for the DR I still have one they can have cheap.

Thanks. It's good for me to know. I will consider the WR250R as well. Ideally would have liked to keep the DR650 as well, but limited space and wife tolerance ;-)
