For Sale: Fender Jazzmaster. Made in the Fujigen Gakki factory in Japan, 1994. Sunburst finish with Modified Mustang bridge and Squier JMascis pickups.
The Good: Excellent player. The Mascis pickups sound fantastic (less jazzmaster, more like a hot p90), Mustang bridge works great.
The Bad: Body has a two cracks, mostly on the back side but they wrap around to the front a bit. Body is stable, cracks have not widened even with steady playing, and have been glued, as best as possible (wet paper on both sides and slide it through crack and clamped)
The Ugly: Relic’ed by a previous owner. I wouldn't have ever done this, but the price was right, and it was a bucket list guitar for me, so I pounced.
Rhythm circuit is all there, it is currently disconnected. There is also a second, more red, tort guard. It will come with a vintage style fender strap, but not the specific one in the pic, as that one was my first ever, and I intend to hang onto it. Pictured here, it has a mastery bridge, but it will come with the mustang bridge re-installed and intonated (the mastery actually belongs to one of my bandmates). And a fresh set of flatwounds.
This thing is a ripper, but I have finally embraced the fact that I just don't need to play anything besides a tele.
$700. Firm.
Given what other MIJ jazzes are going for, this is a bargain. The reason it's priced as is, is noted above.
Edit: and a mint pickguard too.
