am the second owner of this wonderful bike. It has 12k miles on it and not a single scratch. It is mostly stock with a few add on's.
HID lowbeam
pazzo levers
new pilot powers
new timing belt, valves checked during the 12k maintenance (have reciepts)
carbon fiber front fender, rear fender and air ducts
factory ohlins rear shock
factory service manual
These pics are old but it gives you an idea
I absolutely love this bike but I never have any time to ride it due to work and a growing family.
I am looking for $6000 FIRM. I think this a great deal for a great bike.

You shouldn't have any problem getting rid of it at that price
bump for a VERY clean well cared for machine!
You could sell it for more in the spring.
If I can sell my 900ss and the Hawk racebike I would think about buying that 996. I have always wanted one...
But then again... they are torture racks...

Nice to deal with you Nate. Now I just need to find a new home for the TLS. After that I can begin to look down on all the squids with their Japanese motorcycles.

Zero, congrats on a VERY VERY nice deal. For some reason, 996's are way underpriced right now. It's not very fair and many owners end up parting them out instead of losing a boatload of cash.
I was watching this sale for a while. If the cash had come along at the right time I wanted to buy this bike and put it on a shelf in my garage...seriously. I have a client who owes me $8k and I'm going to court for it. If things had sped up a bit with the case I was gonna be all over this bike.
derek
I am sure for $8k we could work something out. You buy it, but I get rights to ride it in the summer. You can then place on the shelf for the winter months. It's what they call a win-win situation.
I am a decent wrench, but a little nervous about learning the Ducati quirks. Seems common knowledge that the electrical can be quite tempermental. Desmo valve advustments will be new terriroty also. Nate did include the manual which was very much appreciated.
The TLS needs a little reconfiguring before I sell it. As it sits I have custom painted bodywork and tank. But I realize that is not desirable for resale. I have all the stock stuff (97 Green) that I will put back on and probably sell the gray bodywork as a set. This is sort of what it looks like at the moment but with the stock tail and hump.

Nice... this was a tremendous deal.
I was tempted to buy it too, but I know that wouldn't have gone over too well at home.
