Yup, it's for sale.
Cons: Motor is tired, doesn't rev out fully, clutch slips. Only noticeable down the front straight, new T1 will aggravate it a bit more. Taller gearing would help as even in top form it was topping out too early. It's a 151, so it's got a bit of a breathing problem internally and as a result mists oil from the stator seal, timing chain roller bolt, and timing chain tensioner bolt. Bore/rings are a bit worn from a couple track days at NHMS along with a season of racing indoors. Front brake master has a 'hitch' in the throw that I've not been able to eliminate yet, I was going to put a new master on but haven't located one yet. It'll be due for fork seals soon, and I need to rebuild the rear brake master as it's seals are done. As it's a road race machine, the front end has just under 2" of travel, it's not built for jumping. The front fender has seen better days (cracked) but is still hanging in there. It's not built for looks, it's not a show queen, but it's not a wreck either.
So, all that said, this is a mini that can do an honest 80+ mph at NHMS before T1, not just over a cliff with a tail wind. And it does so without wagging it's head. It is a purpose built road race bike with multiple one off bits that I've either made myself, or sourced from Japan or the UK.
In it's current tired state, it will do standard Pitbike duty without breaking a sweat, although you'd be wasting it's capacity. It'll drool a drop or two of oil when stored, and smokes a touch when cold, but what do you expect from a race motor being used as a grocery getter?
Make me an offer, and if you want a different setup, hop ups, or mods, note that in your offer. I've got two brand new motors on the shelf as well as a crazy stock of parts to work with. You all know my goal, I'm willing to take it in the rear on this to get there, but I won't let you lube me with glass shards and sand first.

If it was changed to a 125 do you think it would be competitive with these?
My boss and friend race them at Louden in a new class called Formula 125 and I had been looking to compete with them as well as ride it in a parking lot around here.

I've got a Lifan 120 that'd drop in, and know the class rules pretty well, so it'd be no problem to build a motor to out run the upright Formula 100 bikes. Unfortunately, they wrote the rules to specifically outlaw machines like mine. (I've asked in the past to be allowed in...) The class isn't based on displacement, but a specific list of eligible machines. You have to start with an XR100, KLX125, DRZ 125 or TTR125, no other bikes are legal. Plus, I'm running an altered swingarm, and 12" wheels... so no chance of sneaking it in as a cheater either. : )
I'll have to do some research to see which of the legal machines is the best base platform, I know the XR is a dog even with a bore kit... but I've no idea how the others compare.
Thanks. I have ridden both my bosses XR124 and my neighbors TTR125. They both have high compression pistons, cams, carbs, and fmf exhausts. The TTR has a little more pull and handles a little better on the track...but my boss's is also set up for like a 220 pound guy. I have a 2007 DRZ125, but would like to sell that and try to find more of a beater bike if possible.

So, seeing as I had to get a couple measurements for someone, figured I'd share so people have an idea of the size of this 'mini.'
Weight - 140lbs wet and ready
Wheelbase - 48" axle to axle
Wheels - 2.5" x 12" Front rim (100/90R12 tire) / 2.75" x 12" Rear rim (120/80R12 tire)
Seat height - 28"
Seat to pegs - 17"
Oh, fully drilled and wired to LRRS specs. : )
Three hunned now, six hunned on the "Kurlon loan shark payment plan", a steak and cheese, 3.5 boxes of cheerio's, a case of redbull missing one (or two), and a box of oreo's? Hell, I'll even throw in a couple gallons of milk.
You can just bring the bike to complete the transaction @ the next race weekend.
pm me a price? im sure you have a figure your shootign for in your mind
how much you want for the Lifan 120 motor? just curious.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

I'd like to get $2k for it in current form. (Sorry for the delay replying.)
I'd like $200 for the Lifan 120. Note, it's an SDG spec'd unit, so it's setup for an oil cooler. If you're not running one you'll need to have someone make a very short oil line to connect the two oil taps on the clutch cover... unless you like frying your top end. : ) Personally, I've never bothered with an oil cooler and don't see that they really benefit from them, but the option's built in on this unit.
I have a cast cooler to go with it if you want, but no oil lines or banjo bolts. You'll also need to rig your own mounting bracket if your frame doesn't have one already.
And just verified, I have most of my original 140 kit I developed before TB started offering theirs. Takegawa slipper piston, 57mm bore cylinder. Just need fresh gaskets, or a cam to perk it up some more... or I believe my piston will work with TB's new race head if you really want to make a screamer. I need to see if I can find my steel lightened oil sling... I've also got an updated shift star to improve transmission feel, all that goes with the motor.
I've also got a Lifan 150 on the bench. 56.4 x 59.5, Daytona style clutch cover (no oil sling, has a replaceable oil filter), setup to run with or without an oil cooler. Needs a stator plate, I've replaced the head gasket with a thinner unit to bump up the compression. Like my Lifan 120, it's never been started. $300?

I'm headed to the track this weekend, and can bring the 70 along for delivery if someone's interested?
I can't race this weekend thanks to the katoom deciding to break down... if I'm going to fix it I'm going to do it right the first time which means I need an influx of cash.
$1750?
