Looking for a good truck for a good price. I need a new vehicle that can haul the Priller around!
Would like a 4x4 EX Cab, w/ under 125k miles.
Brand doesn't matter, engine doesn't matter, color doesn't matter. Priced between $5-7k or less.
Thanks peeps...OH, and I am looking for something before the 18th of this month. Gotta have it for TTD and BoMo!

I've got a 98 ranger with 140K very, very hard miles on it. I bought it from a kid who got it new, he used it to "tow sleds up north". There was, no shit, a clear set of often worn tracks across from his house that led up a hill, left the ground, and started again a few feet later. Of course he swore it wasn't him, but the truck "did mad good off road". It didn't have working 4x4 when I bought it. The vacuum pulse system in the 98/99 ranger didn't handle mudding well, historically. $150 threw a set of AVM manual locking hubs on it, and 4x4 has been awesome since. I did break a DRIVESHAFT, but it was clearly due to abuse, previous owner and me combined. Also broke a control arm, but it was WAY off camber off-roading. Stuff no vehicle without serious aftermarket stuff (including control arms) had any business doing. Considering the abuse this truck has been through, for those to be the only thing it needs is pretty good. I've done a lot worse to a vehicle in a lot less mileage. I was a GMC/Chevy guy before this truck, but it's taken my abuse way better than the Yukon I used to drive. It currently needs exhaust, but that's due to typical rust on a cheap aftermarket dual system (PO installed) that I smashed off some rocks 'wheeling. No fault of the truck, and not Ford gear anyhow. When I say beat I'm not kidding, it has what I refer to as "tree and rock shaped body mods". I laugh when I bounce it off stuff. It really should have died a while ago...
Here's a shot of a "tree shaped body mod" that got taken on accident while taking farewell pics of my old Ninja before I traded it for the KX.
My dad bought a 97 F150 for his contracting biz in around 2002. In the couple years he had it he was constantly overloading it, and when he traded it in it ran fine with 260,000 miles. That's not a typo. Then Portsmouth Ford cleaned it up, went through it, and sold it. Unless it got wrecked I'm sure that truck broke 300K. It was a lariat, with the leather, heated seats, every option you could want. Awesome truck. The opposite of my current.
My dad's current ride is an 06 F250. Forget the name of the package, but basically a Lariat again. Every option you could dream of. Buried in chrome (Jim would love it). Power everything. Heated leather. Used hard, but like his last one stays on-road or at least on construction sites, he doesn't wheel it and beat it like I would. 100K, has had computer issues the entire time he's had it. Stupid stuff, current issue is driver side door sensor thinking it's not closed so display reads "left door open" when it's not. It's been back to the dealer for stupid stuff like that ~6 times in the past few years.
I love late 90's ford trucks. I'd buy my ranger again, or my dad's old F150. If I bought a 98/99 ranger again I'd do the AVM hub swap right out of the gate (again), but that's more a "anyone who wheels is going to do this and anyone who doesn't will never care or have an issue with the stock system" thing.
Another amazing thing about my truck... all those miles and all that abuse (wheeling in a 5 speed requires a lot of clutch work) later, plus teaching at least 4, probably more, people how to drive stick with it... original clutch, working flawlessly (knocks on head).
I had a 99 f250 with the 5.4 wish I never sold that truck.... It was the light duty 4wheel drive, Lariat edition.
i've seen this truck...it's almost comical how much abuse it will take without failure. reminds me of top gear's attempt to destroy a diesel T-100.
plus i've met a couple of the, uh, mechanically retarded people that learned how to drive stick w/the ranger. if they can't break it, then i'm pretty sure nobody can.

1998.5 Dodge Ram Extended cab, 24v cummins turbo diesel...5 spd...steel flatbed..190,000 miles, but that is nothing for these trucks...
Tons of new parts and needs a little TLC also.....
not sure what it is worth but I have been thinking of getting rid of it. I just don't use it for what it is meant for.
I have an office job and it travels me to/from work...That is all. well the occasional track days it hauls my bikes also... that is the biggest load it has seen since my ownership...
Does get 20+mpg & is a power house!!!!...which is the reason I have kept it this long...

I have had good luck with them. I have been driving this one for a while, it runs great, fully serviced.
