Just for giggles, anyone interested in a 2001 KTM SuMo starter kit with a crap ton of extras thrown in?
You get:
- 17" wheels laced to OEM hubs
- 320mm Braking rotor
- 4 pot Braking / KTM SuMo caliper
- Spare set of EBC HH pads to match
- Brembo Goldline front brake master with CRG lever
- Applied Racing 18mm(?) offset clamps
- 14/40 sprocket set, Stealth Sprockets rear
- Magura Aluminum fat bars
Comes with:
2001 KTM 520SX to demonstrate proper installation. Motor needs the head redone, exhaust rocker is busted and only actuating one valve. Cases should be split to make sure the missing tappet adjuster isn't still rattling around in there. Engine is currently dry but can be filled with water and oil if you'd like to hear it run. 30hp dyno demonstrating 3v 'economy' mode output available on request. Engine equipped with lighting stator.
New orange side and front number plates along with the existing side panels.
Dunlop slicks already mounted, still have life left for 1:25 lap times.
Street title to go with the demonstrator chassis.
Pic attached of conversion kit, installed look may vary depending on KTM used. Fits all 2000 and up KTM 'big bikes', KTM sells a spacer kit required to use the front with 2003 or newer forks.
$1250?

Sent you a PM for clarification.
Just to clear things up... the kit comes with the display model bike. Strip it for parts, run it as is, repair it and rip it or use it as an attractive wheel holder in your pit, you're free to do whatever you want with it.
Josh, what offset trips are on it?

Whatever was stock on the 01 520, I don't know the measurement off the top of my head.
What's the gearing on the donor bike?

Off the top of my head, I don't remember. I'll check it Saturday when I'm up to the shop where it's stored. Felt short at NHMS, but it also couldn't pull more than mid revs in 6th in it's current condition so...
I shall offer an EX500 racebike, a 198? CB650 Highthawk and a Fuzzbox enclosed trailer in trade for this Soomow kit/bike.

A generous offer, but at the moment the name of the game is decreasing the amount of bikes/projects/etc I have, anything I don't plan on actually using any time soon has got to go.
(The CB is the lone exception as it's for a friend.)
Ok, gotten a bunch of questions, here's some answers:
Clamps - Applied Racing, no other markings I could see so I've no idea what offset they are. Applied only lists 18mm units for this bike now, 2mm less than OEM? Oversized bar clamps, with a Magura SX aluminum bar in place.
Gearing - 14/40, dunno as you can go to a 15 on the front without damaging the clutch master, might be able to drop down to a 39 or 38 in back?
Suspension - AFAIK stock internals, worked over by 'REP Suspension' at some point in it's past based on the sticker remains on the forks.
Exhaust - Jardine RT Four muffler, I believe stock header.
I also have a 1996 19" dirt rear wheel that should fit as well but I haven't had a chance to verify.

Hah, not all that interested in trades at this point, but that is a sweet mini! : )
I'm trying to thin the stable, and eliminate stuff I'm either not using or don't plan to use. The only reason my 70 isn't on the chopping block is the operator of NEMM bought a track that's basically up the road from me. If that works out I'm going back to mini racing only. This time around it'll be one bike, repairs only, no more trying to build it any further.
I've updated the first post with all the SuMo starter kit contents. Ping me with any other requests for pics or details.
I'm in an odd mood at the moment... Any FZR400s kicking around?
October bump, bike is still available, and I now have a garage rebuild bill hanging over my head. (And no race bike for 2011 yet...)
November bump, as I noted in the ST3 thread I want to race next year but it's not going to happen while I still have the Katoom and Duc.
$1000 CASH - no trades/checks/payment plans
Price out a conversion kit that includes OEM hubs, good rims, a billet 4 pot caliper and a Brembo master, 320mm floating rotor, CRG lever and then look at my offering that includes all that and way more for spares/etc.
I know you're trying to down size - but I'll give you my KTM in trade.
i know you don't want trades just pushing buttons for the hell of it. :-)
Sale pending.
