    2015 Yamaha FJ-09 (Boston area)

    SOLD

I have a 2015 Yamaha FJ-09 with 13,8xx miles that I am considering selling to upgrade to a newer bike, either the 2019/20 Tracer 900GT or less likely the newer FJ9 (don't like it's looks). I wanted to test the waters and see if there is interest. I know it is towards the end of the season. I have my eyes set on a potential 2020 900GT. I really like these bikes - sporty, comfortable, torquey engine and reliable.

I have a few bikes, but use this one the most. I commute to work on it almost every day. It has seen rain, but no snow.

    Specs
    13,8xx miles
Superb suspension: set up for someone heavier than me unfortunately - I'm 150lbs, it was setup for 210 lbs, so a little stiff for me but still nice
    Ohlins shock: $1179 https://www.ohlinsusa.com/parts/2016...LzrbN50tVaETjB
    GP Pro forks: $1399 https://gpsuspension.com/products/gp...r900-2016-2020
    MC Cruise control: $692 https://www.mccruise.com/en-us/produ...-wire-mccruise
Givi soft side bags with thin frames. I think each bag is either 25 or 30 liters
Currently has a Givi rear rack and a 40L Monokey trunk. I'd like to keep the trunk but can negotiate
I recently added kimpex heated grips and wired them into the bike's heated grip controller
Michelin Road 5 tires in good condition, probably 60% used
Multiple screens for different seasons - currently using the MRA sport screen for the summer. Have a few larger ones like the OEM, Givi Sport, etc
Battery pig tail - I keep it on a tender if I don't ride for a number of days or go on vacation

Nothing wrong with the bike as far as I know

The biggest plus of this bike compared to other FJ-09's are the CC and the terrific after market suspension ($2500+). My price is firm at $6k
I was going to offer the bike to NESR peeps for $6k. I really like the bike and may decide not to upgrade, but feel that if I can find a decent deal on a newer 2020 tracer 900GT it may be worth the extra few thousand dollars.

Yes, got $100 more than asking here and sold it more quickly than I thought. Unfortunately, the bike I was going to purchase was sold the same day I sold my bike! Now, my mind is thinking what I should do next...

    890 SMT looks appetizing

I’ve considered also off loading my FJ-09 for one.

    Re: Testing the waters

I am not attracted to the KTM products. I have ridden them at DirtDaze, so a short loop but still. I have a number of bikes and was thinking of a street oriented commuter, maybe Tiger 660 or if I can find another decent deal on a low mileage Tracer 900GT which is kind of the biggest I want to go. Or, just get a Ducati Monster which will be ridden infrequently :-(

This one popped up on my marketplace the other day. A couple issues that would maybe make me want to wait a couple more model years until the kinks are ironed out

Yes, I saw that one. It is a very good deal. I’ve ridden it in 2022 at Dirt Daze and honestly it was like a good newer version of my old FZ6 - great bike. It’s definitely a contender. There is a non GT tracer in NYS not far from the Berkshires for $7k which also seems good

was going to be looking for 890 deals, but same concerns, going to keep an eye out for a deal on the Hypermono instead...
