i dont think anyone knows. i dont believe anyone has been there before. i have delusions that it will be far tamer than clough but at this point i know as much as you

ive been out there several years ago on a four-wheeler though .all ive seen out there is double track , 4-wheeler , dirt road , snowmobile trails . some challenging hills maybe but i dont know of any singletrack out there . im just going to meet people to ride with and i really dont expect much of the trails

looks like there may be a trail or 2 that go to the top of arrowhead mountain. and in true atv fashion, we should probably come across some mud holes because those guys all live for that shit

Solid fun!!! Oh wait. Riding motor bikes with friends is always a great time. These trails are pretty good. Really need a map to figure out things

Was 30 according to the dash thermometer when I rolled into the parking lot. No problem with a good set of thermies on. I was sweating after the 2nd or 3rd climb.

The mud holes sucked though. Nothing like getting wet when the temps are that low.

I had a ton of fun.

My take is the trails aren't nearly as well kept as Clough (duh). More open. A lot more water and mud holes. More class 6 road kind of thing. We had no maps and were kind of winging it. This put us on a knarly hill climb under some power lines that kicked my ass. I couldn't make it to the top. Later a couple of us tried another trail that had another tuff climb, but then the trail went nowhere. (Ended at a private property sign. My guess is a landowner got pissy.) One trail we did was open and easy double track. Kind of like day 2 of Sausagefest, if that point of ref helps.

We also found a mini motocross ring of sorts. Big berms. Big fun.

I'm interested to see what Adams' maps look like. I am going to wager a bet that we covered like 10% of the trails and class 6 roads available to ride in that area. Driving out 103 back to 89 I saw a bunch of OHV looking stuff on the sides of the road. Question is, are those snowmobile only? Or open to all OHVs?

There were still icy spots at 3, but it stayed fun all day. It was instructive to see that no one had gone through a pool yet because it was still lightly frozen "nope, not going that way".

So how was it?

Awesome. I rode my MX bike most of the day and it beat the piss outta me. Sorry to have missed you, next time tell your family you have priorities. Or at least post the portrait.

Jeff, the new bike was sweet, I was keeping my distance to avoid being a creeper. I saw what you did on that big rock at the power line junction, that was very close to crossing the line from wicked cool to uh-oh!

I'll remember this day all winter as I'm digging out the firewood I should have been blocking/splitting/stacking. Aw hell, It was too nice for that kinda work anyway.
