what are tech screws?
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Welcome to Woodall Fastening Systems!
The "Jeep" of self-tapping screws. Not sure I'd want to try those in a knobbied tire. Most cycle shops carry some type of Kold Kutter screws
A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. - John Stuart Mill
They are simple/cheap way of getting great traction on the ice. They are basicly a machine screw with a 1/4 head for gripping the ice. They come in 1/2 & 3/4 length, this is the portion that is driven into your tread. If your tread is worn a lot then you will be safer going with the 1/2". The 3/4 has a better chance of not getting pulled out if by chance you do some trail riding and catch a log or something...
One bag is about 500 screws for $50, enough to do both tires!

So I manage to keep the bike up on 2 wheels, avoiding any riding injuries.
How ever, mx boots aren't the best for traction when standing or walking on ice. By the time I realized I was slipping my feet were already out from under me and I was laying flat on my back on the ice, good thing I had a helmet on I guess. I did smack my elbow pretty good and its got a good bruise forming already.
Perhaps I should stud up my boots for next time......................

I'm frikin sore as frik. 6 hours of running flat out battling with 3 other 450's all running canadian tires will ruin you!!! What a fun day.

I hate the idea of puting something in the boot, we pretty much slam our feet on the ice in a corner, I'd hate to have the boot grab and end up pulling someone off their bike, ice is hard when you hit it and I don't imagine the studded hoops of the rider behind you will feel to good as they run you over...
On a side note, i did fall on my ass today because of no boot traction while standing still.
We had a great day today...sport quads are way more fun on ice than bikes![]()

I tried to give you a call on the cell number I have for you but it went to voicemail. PM me your number again so I can find you guys next time.
Joel
Joel,
People are ripping it in Nashua too right on Amherst St. on the pond. Let me know I can show you this weekend. The wife and I went and watched for a while this past weekend.
Nathan
Nathan what are they riding? I heard it was some crazy mofo's with dirt track specific bike setup for the ice? Is it just a bunch of guys ripping it up on dirt bikes?
KB
There was all types out there. Amherst St 101A right near the Texas Roadhouse. They do just have an oval set up though.
Nathan
I'm going to a bike shop tomorrow and hopefully get some screws.. So I am hoping to be out riding this upcomming weekend.
