looks like a nice weekend for it.
If everything pans out i think someone could be talked into riding on sunday.
And you know how we all hate going out and drinking on a saturday night.
KB... i was talking to one guy at the 101A pnd and he had a 450... fastest mofo i have seen so far on the ice... but he only turned left on the oval. turns out his bike was modified to turn left... the outter peg was lowered almost 2" to give him better leverage and control.

I bought 1000 tech screws so I have more than enough to have a shit load of traction!!!!!! I dont think I will use them all but I will stuff as many as possible!
I am going to do my best to get this accomplished to ride for Sunday!!!!!!!
And drinking Saturday will do a body good...
Who has a couch I can crash on up there in CowHampshire?

I was just thinking if the Ice is not good enough, then we find trails? If there is little or not packed snow/Ice then I will want to be on rubber!!!

Where did you guys grow up massachusetts or something. There is 2 feet of ice on the big lakes like winnepesaukee and more on the little ones like Ghoram pond. There is plenty of ice. The only problem is that you will need a plow to be able to ride. If you know someone with a truck and a plow. That's what you need. Just to give you an idea of how much ice there is. There were motorhomes on winnipasaukee 2 weeks ago.
I am out for sunday I have an ice fishing tournament in deerfield.

I ran some studded tires (courtesy of you-know-who) for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Having done the sheet metal screw thing a long time ago, I have to say the studs have amazing traction by comparison. And being that the trails still have ice into April, I plan on using them for a while. They aren't the best on pure ice, but they still work okay. They kick ass on the trail though.

Spent $80 on 4 boxes of Gold screws with 250 in each. I used about 600 total. Spent two hours putting them in tonight outside in the rain. (Glad it was light rain!)
Later my buddy comes over we head out for a few drinks and he tells me he has a box of about 1000 of the gold screws in his basement I can have...![]()
Great, thanks but where were you when I spent $80 on these fucker....![]()
So Joel, in partial trade to you helping me install my stereo this spring I have some screws for your bike! I guess I will have to head up your way early Saturday so you can put them in before we all go out... Call me tomorrow if I should go grab them from my buddy, He lives down by GMD...

If you dont mind getting them then I probably wont mind putting them in the CR's tires.
But, then the fun begins. If I were to want to go riding I don't have a way to get the CR there. So, unless I can hitch a ride for me and the bike then I don't think I will be riding. I may show up just for the entertainment factor of watching you guys slide around for a while but if I can't get the bike there no use putting screws in the tires. (I'm working on this whole bike transportation problem just need to finalize the plans and buy some stuff)
Joel
Oh yeah, for all you Nashuites or in that area, or dont mind driving a little. One of the guys I work with is in a band and they are playing at the Haluwa, the chinese restaraunt off of RT 3 up by the movie theater on the way to Manch Vegas, tonight and Saturday night. They mostly play rock tunes from the 80s and 90s. I think I am going to head up there tonight but not 100% yet. So, if anyone wants to check them out there it is.
Joel If I head up and we get the screws installed you can throw the bike in the back of my truck and I will bring it up Sat night. I can lock the two bikes together in the bed and have it also locked into a tie down.
Sunday on the way home I can drop the bike back off when we are done riding.

allright. 210 screws later and the front is done. unfortunatly i need 3/8 or 7/16 for the rear and i need about 240 of those. cant even find sheet metal screws that short. ill have to wait until more come in next week. maybe RM will have some.
