Thinking about going to Franklin tomorrow after work for about 2 hours. I get out of work at 5, would be there between 530-545. I have never been there, it looks like there are 3 forests, Franklin, F. Gilbert Hills and Wrentham, i would be down for any of the 3, i think Wrentham would take me a few extra minutes to get to though.
Anyone Interested?
Also anyone know where exactly i have to put my reg stickers> would on the forks be Ok?

hmm, i was thinking of riding HVD tomorrow afternoon but let me see if i could swing Franklin. i'm an hour or so from there.
on the stickers, yes, upper fork tube works. i like to laminate my stickers first, then zip-tie on so you can remove them easily.

speaking of reg stuff. make sure you mount both stickers, the expiration (colored) sticker AND keep your paperwork with you.
we've been checked by EPO at Franklin and HVD for full stickers/papers/VIN.

I could do Hodges as well but i think 290 traffic i wouldn't get there till about 6. I work until 5 in Marlborough.

I'll second that.... I should have done similar but instead just stuck em' to the fork tubes. They arent the most durable things, now I'm taping over them with clear packing tape to keep them in place.
I live pretty close to Franklin forest. I was getting out for mid week rides last year but havent been at all yet this year. I need to get back to it. Cant make it tomorrow though.

most fun in franklin -
you need to do the beaver pond loop!!
take the power lines south, all the way to the train tracks, turn left, under the bridge, then take the (hidden?) trail entrance on your left that is surrounded in bushes, then follow it (only goes 1 way IIRC) until you come back!
I couldn't find it the first time, but it is so much fun...my friend and I would loop back around where it connects to the street and do it multiple times
although for Franklin, I wasn't so fond of the really rocky sections and the "ponds" you had to ride through after a good rain...
although riding the whoops along the freeway felt pretty badass!

I'll have to explore some more sometime soon, for last night i just stayed in the main trails, by myself i didn't want to make to much risk.
Definitely agree about the after rain though, it was very very muddy and i did get stuck once because the rut just kept getting deeper, that being said is a big reason i didn't want to venture far because i have been stuck in mud where it took 2-3 people to get the bike out!

i'll try to grab GPS coordinates, have them somewhere, but the main ORV parking area is your first left off Clara Barton Road in Oxford.
EDIT: here you go... 42°08'59.9"N 71°52'35.4"W
if you look at a map, the first left off Clara Barton swoops around and out to the quarry. the parking lot is small but you'll prob see a line of trucks on the right if it's full. parking anywhere along there is fine.
i'll be in a black Tacoma, white/red Husky
