If that is the case, I would be stunned! Feels like a 450 compared to my 09 KX250F, which was easily the strongest 250 of that year. I'm pretty sure this hits harder than the pre16 350s I've ridden. Supposedly the 16 350 has found some balls. I don't know that the 250 has much room to grow. It's a hammer! (for it's size)

Lulz...
I keep lusting for one.
I got my 300 to track like a thumper with the addition of a damper though, so I'll just have to roach yours for a quick second or three.

OK, The gearing on this thing is insane. I think I hit over 80mph in 6th gear on my way home. Needs a steering damper at those speeds!
I started trying to improve the suspension setting despite the overly stiff springs. Might be a waste of time, but I figured I would learn something. Did I ever!
I started by removing a bunch of preload from the shock. The spring is so stiff I don't think I can get sag in the ballpark, but I slacked it way off. I figured I would start there and work on the clickers at the track. Holy WOW, I took it from brutally stiff, but balanced and ride able, to a hot mess with this one adjustment.
Rear was kicking all over the place so I dialed in some rebound on the shock. better, but the bike was really unpredictable and knifing into all the corners. I fell a bunch.
OK, so I dialed in some rebound up front to try to settle things and get the bike to carve. Better. But the rear was still wild. I dialed in a bunch of comp damping out back and things settled right down. I rode a BUNCH of laps making small adjustments until the bike felt predictable. Then I just put my head down and did some hot laps. Even with the wrong springs I am a bit faster in the fast harsh whoops than my old bike. Partly suspension, and partly that the bike can lunge forward INSTANTLY when I tell it to.
The potential of this bike is very high. Way higher than I expected. I can't wait to have Peter work the forks over for me and really start dialing it in!
No longer paralyzed.

I'm looking at a 09 250 xc (2 stroke) and the Massachusetts owner claims it's titled and platable, but as far as I know, it just has the Ktm headlight...even that is missing the bulb and I'm not sure it would pass as far as high beam requirement.
Im wondering about what mods would be required to get a similar bike thru mass inspection: (seems like I've seen threads on nesr about this in the past, having a bit of trouble finding the info)
License plate bracket and license plate light I assume. Looks like there are some plastic legs coming off the bottom of the rear fender to accept something, on the bike I'm looking at.
Hand turn signals or lights?
What about a horn?
Odometer?
DOT tires without a sumo kit somehow, or coughing up the cash for sumo rims?
What else?
I'm not looking to ride the thing to deals gap, obviously. But getting to trails legally on the street would be nice, not to mention that these bikes seem to magically gain about a grand in value once plated in mass
What are inspections?![]()

Things people do to keep their insurance rates from increasing due to a silly ticket for something that could have been relatively easily avoided
Especially here in MA the land of we're going to require you to insure everything for ridiculous amounts of money because our buddies at the insurance companies paid for (insert kickback here)
