I'm going to try to get a few people to hit up Crow Hill on 9/8. Maybe we can get some laps in together if you want. I went for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago. Great place.
I'd love to get up there on 9/1 as well, but I have to work this Saturday.
I will be geting there very early...like before they even open the gate to get in. If you get there early as well, we should end up with the same color wrist band.
Wristband?
How does this whole thing work, Do they run groups Based on ability Ect.
Give a kittle run down of what to expect, Please

wish i could join you guys on the 8th but have plans already. heading up with Paul on 9/1...
Mongoose, yes, they run groups based on ability, e.g. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced. when you sign in/pay you will tell them what your ability is and they will give you a colored wrist band. in the AM, if not too many riders are ready to get on the track they will run everyone together but right after a few laps, riders are ready and the groups start to split. intermediate gets pretty big so they split that group into two when i was there last.
if you sign up as a Beginner to get a feel for the track and the riders (like I did) you can upgrade to the next group after an evaluation by a track-side official. i asked about this and he said if you're clearing all the obstacles and i see you are doing OK, i'll just give you a new band to hop into the next group. after watching the intermediates, i should have just signed up for that group right off the bat. lots of kids and brand new riders were in my group that day.
each group session is 15min but you can pull off at any time. the track is a total blast. VERY friendly for all skill levels.

Yup...that's how it's done. Well organaized. If you've done a fair amount of dirt before, and you've done it safely, I would say try the intermediate. But if you tend to still be somewhat 'squirrly', and are liable to get off line too much and hit another rider, then I'd say stick in the beginner class for a while. You don't have to be fast...just stable. You would be the one to know that, and make the choice. As typeone said, there is a good mix in the intermediate.
Typeone/Paul...wish you guys could make it on the 8th....
