Great day of riding where I only fell 2-3 times. Minor casualties
Most trails were somewhat dry, but other places were mini swamps that were surprisingly deep (like: "shit...half of my bike is under water.")
Towards the end of the day we were totally lost and tired, when the bike sputtered...and I feared for what would happen next.
ALWAYS GAS UP YOUR TWO STROKE DURING THE DAY.
The RM125 died and we had no idea where we were. All the worst things came to mind about how to handle this. My friend told me he'd stay with the bike since he was sore and tired, so I left my phone with him, and started riding down the trail, hoping to mark the intersections and find my way back.
Luckily I rode about 10 mins when I saw a swamp-like puddle that we decided against riding through, earlier. Instantaneously I knew where I wasI got back to the truck and filled up a water bottle with 2-smoke mix, stuffed it into the camel bak, and got the RM home
So yeah...gas up your bike during the ride, bring a cell phone, and don't ride alone!
also, the RM is a wild, wild, beast...my buddy had a WOT/3rd gear/uncontrollable situation and dumped it...he's bruised up pretty good on his waist. Everyone that's ridden that 144 stroker has dumped it while on "the pipe"![]()
Sounds like a good time. Wish I was out there. Everyone crashes. I dump it at least 2-3 times a ride usually low speed crashes. The faster spped crashes tend to hurt a bit more. Ended up with a black arm for a week.
The two strokes like their gas and having a small MX tank doesnt really help much. I always check my fuel eash time I return to the truck.
Youll have to come out next time with us![]()
you aren't kidding...is there any hip protection better than whatever came with my Thor MX pants?
I took a tumble on one trail that was covered in rocks and pebbles after my back wheel hit a rock and dove out to the side. One of the large pointy stone sticking out in the trail ended up against my hip.
ha...I learned my lesson on my first ride with the bike: at Crow Hill Motocross. But when I pointed at the tank my friend "insisted" that I'd be fine and wouldn't have to refuel.
absolutely I will...the only thing is I'm probably going to ride much slower than we went last time. I've been out a couple times since the last time we went out, and it occurred to me that I was riding way beyond my abilities that day. You'll have to come out next time with us![]()
were you guys out there today?? I saw a bunch of other trucks and riders, but couldn't find the blue Yamaha
I was riding the yellow RM125 for most of the day, but rode the XR200R for 20 minutes or so, and boy is that a fun little bike. I even used the pogo stick suspension to get airborne in the middle of the trail off of big rocks!
