Hi Folks,
Just wondering if any of you have been to Freetown State Forest in the pasyt? It is the only area to legally ride near me. I have seen the state's web site that states it is "expert" level trails. Am wondering how "expert" that means? am certainly no expert.
I think I would have to take someone with me that has experience with Freetown because I am not the most experienced dirt bike person. I have seen people do some things that look easy and I have seen other things that look difficult (like some of the things done with trials bikes).
Never been to Freetown but from what I've read, there's a rocky side and a sandy side?
I've been to Wrentham and Franklin though....rocks, roots, and mud...just like most every trail in the new england area![]()

hmmm, rocks or sand? Damn, they both sound fun. I want to go out and play.
ROCKs huh that's an understatement.
picture Wile E Cyote and RoadRunner when one of any variety of ACME products sends Wile boucing sliding slamming vibrating jarrring flopping careening ...... you get the idea. If you are adventurous and in decent physical condition it's a great place to get your *cherry* popped on the tough stuff. Deff don't go it alone and bring your magic button and a shin protection F that double shin protection. It can be both BRUTAL and exhilarating at the same time.
I ride in central /western MA and in central NH and nothing I have seen here compares
after riding freetown .... the trails I ride .... got demoted from solid 7's for all around fun and toughness to weak 4's. Freetown deff rates 8.5 - 9 for all-around thrill and spill action

If you don't mind heading south and east some weekend, I can give you a tour of the 60 mile NETRA loop at Pachaug State Forest in Ct. I was even thinking about starting a dualsport/supermoto ride from my house one of these weekends...though it may be best to wait until slightly cooler weather moves in.
Pachaug requires a street plate, no yellow plates![]()

Sounds good. I "think" the NETRA Pachaug rock ride is the second weekend in July and there are a few changes in the loop from what I've heard. Sometime after that event is when I'll probably do something...though I could go anytime seeing it's only 15 minutes from my house.
I'm not exactly a fast rider myself and I seem to spend a lot of time on the ground with my bike so I don't think I'd mind towing a novice around![]()

it looks like I am mostly done with traveling for work and I'm looking towards Loudon for the 12 13 weekend ..... but after that, I will keep an eye out for a thread.
Pffft I carry novices around in my backpack![]()
my bike gets me out of many situations before I can begin to think of what to do. thanks Honda
