A lot of people I know around the lake come & watch sometimes. There was some dude at wunna the houses near the track that was on his deck for quite a while. Not sure if he was watching with interest or with disgust though. Luckily there's only a few houses near the track with year-round habitants...
Either way, I still think it'll be best to give 'em a little break. Let 'em catch their breath, so to speak...

Well, never made it to the meeting...
But it's been a coupla weeks and nothing's really been going on out on the lake, and I haven't really heard much from anyone since. I haven't bothered plowing the track yet though. With the frigid temps up until the storm, I was hoping by leaving the snow on there it'd act as insulation, keeping the surface nice for us. I figured with all the melting we were forecast to have, it'd be best to leave it be. Hopefully, my gamble pays off and it'll melt nicely down to the track surface and give us a coupla more weekends...
I'll get a good look at it tomorrow or Saturday and see how it's working out...![]()

I could do with one more icy ride before the season quits. I wimped out the last time. Payment in the form or manual labor?:
This weekend sounds good for ice. I just got from checking out my track and the inch of snow we got has melted and made everything smoooooth again.

I have NO problem admitting where my 'talent' falls short. But damn man, even coming outta that hairpin on your ass, you were just pulling away down that little straight. I don't know how you were biting so good with so few screws...
What kinda tires do you have on the rear again?

The tires I have are Kenda Knarly, 22/10/9
For next year, I'm getting the same tire but in a 18/10/9.
Now there are less than 200 screws in each tire, I started with something like 450-480
It could be the power comander getting just the right amount of power down to hook up? I havn't played with any maps in a couple years and if i recall, it wasn't a very agressive map installed.
One thing that I thought was odd though, while mine rips off the line and out of corners, it completly fell on it's face on the wide open drag race across the lake?

Ice looks okay for now. But we're looking at temps around 40 the next coupla days. If there's even any snow left on it by the end of the day tomorrow, it'll just need a quick hit with the plow to ride Sunday...
Some dickhead poked a whole in the middle of it, in the S-turns just before the hairpin and stuck a big ol' stick in it. Now it's frozen in there, stickin' straight up. I actually think it was some kids, not a disgruntled neighbor. And I have an idea on who it was, so I'll try to bump into him this weekend. With such little snow, it won't be hard to alter the run a bit to go around it...

Sounds to me like the new stick is an added turn marker
The nice thing about having a large area like you have, and little to no snowcover, is you can pretty much just "ride in" a new configuration.
I wish I could come up for a day but it aint gonna happen, sucks because it may be getting close to the last weekend as well. Long range doesn't look good for ice making around here anyways

Yip! That's the plan!
Yeah, ain't looking promising. Warm stretch, followed by snow early next week. After the warmth and riding on it, the snow's gonna kill it. I'm gonna try my hardest to scrape the surface after we ride Sunday, but I can't be certain THAT'LL happen. I plan on being VERY hungover Sunday...![]()

Oh boy. So we're partying hard sat night - time to start drinking gatorade!!!
Just got back from the lake. Surface is lookin' kinda slushy. I dropped the plow to check it out and it was just diggin' ruts & tossing the slush. I'm gonna leave it be. We'll hafta run it in a bit to define it, but that ain't but a thang. Maybe even hafta alter it just a bit to avoid some thin looking areas...

Ya lets try not to fall through. Chris said someone broke through by him. To early to go swimming.
Yeah, it's not lookin' all that great. Track's slush & puddles. I don't know if it'll be worth your while driving all the way down here, Chris. You're certainly welcome too, but the track's kinda poop. It's actually more fun just rippin' around the lake...
Me thinks the end may be near for the track this year...![]()

I just got from ridding my track and holy shit is soft ice slippery. Really had to work the corners but it was fun, but maybe not so much fun when I would pass the guys ridding with me.Once you got through the top layer it got better, but we really needed a plow to clean everything off.
I am game to head over there tomorrow if you are going to ride.
