WTF??? About 3/4 of the track is back to total mush. And this is after yet another night of sub-zero temps. I can understand the 4-6" of slush under the snowbanks, but I'm having a really hard time wrapping my head around the track not freezing...
Some fuckin' winter...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Is the snow insulating the slush and holding the temp higher?

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
The polutants from the atv's circiling the lake track have created a mini global warming effect, warming up the air just over the track causing slush to form.
My girlfriend goes to university of manchester so i know this shit.
It was 10 BELOW here when I got up this AM...
Like I said, I get that. But doesn't even begin to explain why the track surface isn't freezing with these temps. The track surface is pretty clean. It looks really good until you step on it. Just makes no sense...

Oh, I'm sorry, that's where my water softener flushes out to, my bad.
Fuck it, I'm gonna ride the studded quad up and down my ice covered driveway..and attempt to clear a path in the snow around my property! I need to ride something![]()

Riding the trails at pawtuckaway again tomorrow.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
not sure if you guys know about this, but they do ice racing in Sturbridge, MA (oval track), they are plowed, and were even out last weekend
too bad it's nascar style

yeh but you have to have ama approved screws, nerf bars for the quads and extended fenders for the dirt bikes and a tethered kill switch , they used to be ama sanctioned so you had to have an ama mambership, it is run now by a gun club member so I don;t think you need a valid ama membership.
so its $30 for a practice session and 2 motos ?

Glenn coolbeth offered me a bike to ride at that. Track seems really short. As in, still leaned over on the straights.
Sturbridge is far though.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

Possibly rain & freezing rain even up here tomorrow! This could be good. I don't know if I'll have time to get out there tomorrow, wish I could - it'd help, no doubt. But I'll be gone 'til mid to late afternoon. Hoping I have time to at least TRY to drag the plow tomorrow...

I'm hoping you get this line of heavy rain and thunderstorms that passed over here this evening...and I hope the entire lake gets covered in water and refreezes....just like it did last year![]()

found some more on TT...not sure if this is a repost...def. new to me...
the following are called mf44 (MF44 Ice Screws Motocross ATV Automobile)
thick threads on these 1/2" screws:
these have a solid head (not slotted), so maybe it will last longer?
these use a use a nylon lock nut on the inside of the tire...I'd imagine a very, very strong liner is needed to keep this from puncturing the tube...
but now I know why the MF1 ones I posted earlier, also have a fine thread. They must also use a nylon lock nut on the inside of the tire despite not being pictured with one:
and I found a stud I like for the XR...they look like they'll stay in better than the maxigrip ones:
tungsten carbide, probably better suited for mixed condition riding, review here

We got plenty of rain & freezing rain w/ just a bit of snow. It was WORSE than it was before the storm and it looks like we'll have 'warmer' temps most of the week during the days. There wasn't one sled out there yesterday. That says A LOT, you've seen what a typical winter day is like out on our lake...

Sucks I couldn't make it this weekend. Maybe it'll be good next.

not too long for me
looks like a blast guys! great work on the track too, great setup with all those turns
great pass @ 3:36! power wheelie @ 6:11! and the guy recording definitely is holding some good speed on the track
I take you (sean), was not doing the recording, unless you weren't riding the white bike?
Watching the vid quality from that video confirms my camera is shitNot even gonna save any of my footage from the weekend
Great time and glad we took the "chance" with heading up in hopes the track would be ridable. Some ride and work Saturday, the payoff was Sunday![]()
