So... there's a 1990 or earlier (didn't catch the exact year) KTM 350 E/XC two stroke woods machine for sale near me.
Missing front caliper and brake line
Front brake master has been epoxy'd
Clutch is crazy stiff, doesn't engage
Sidestand mount is fatigued and ready to snap off
Bodywork is beat
Seat is beat
Rear tire is flat
Shift lever has been epoxy'd on
Leaks oil from: Yes
Headlight doesn't work
But hey, it starts and runs! Damn thing sounded good?!
Anyone want the contact info for this gem?![]()

Asking price was $1250.
FYI, my WR cost less up front... and was at least ridable...
offer $1,200...but as CASH, and bring a truck...you can probably get it!!!
any other new dirtybike riders in the forum??
the torch needs to be passed on

Is it bad that I've already searched for replacement calipers online, have a gut feeling that a early 90s YZ unit will work... and got confirmation that the clutch may just be stuck due to sitting?![]()
Still too much Josh. $600, maybe, but even that's a stretch for a bike with these kinds of issues.

but the technology on antique dirty bikes are lousy...they're not nearly as much fun as a newer bike
and the potential cost explosion on any older bike (plus parts availability: can you even do it?) is just too risky
I wouldn't even pay $300 for anything older than 15 years...even if it's running! a few months into it, you'll have to replace everything you'd replace on a non-running bike anyhow
Then why did you suggest to offer 1200 cash? Now I'm confused.

after the debacle that Kurlon and I had gone through with our bikes, I was being 100% sarcastic
I think that bike is a lousy deal at almost any price...
K-dawg - run away!!!
imho: if you want an old bike, buy it only for the novelty of liking that specific bike, or for the novelty of fixing/restoring
the risk of them costing more money is extraordinarily high, and if you want to buy it to ride it, you can buy a newer bike for just a little more money that will cost you less in the long run...plus it'll actually have fewer broken parts and can actually be ridden!
$1250, that's hilarious. the letters K, T and M are making people delusional
someone should scoop up the ~5hr old 2002 CR250R on WoodsRider or NEDB (forget which), it's in N RI. looks almost new, price has been dropping rapidly (down to 2500 obo)
