Jebus I stink at dirtyriding. Went riding yesterday for the first time of the 'Spring' and it was all ass's and elbows out there. I hate that feeling of utter "WTF". Granted it was my 5th time riding dirt in the last 12 months (which makes me cry) but still.
I really need to get riding again a bit more before this Southwick race in June or it will just be embarrassing.
The CRF250 needs a little love but with 91.5 hours on the clock (30 hours since last valve job) the lil beauty is running like a top! Still starts up 2nd or 3rd kick! On the to do list is:
- New chain & sprockets
- Change oil & filter
- Clean air filter
- Replace hot start cable
- New tires before Southwick
- Valve job + new piston and rings
wooo weee.

Where'd you ride? Couple friends and I are headed to Hemond's in Minot, ME tomorrow. I've got a couple rides under my belt already, so it shouldn't be any more embarassing than ususal.
Which track are you running at Hemonds, the old one or new one?
Both are going to be open. I'll probably start on the old (smaller) track. Chances are I'll end up riding the new (big) track some, but I've heard it's pretty intense. Then again, I'm not always the smartest when it comes to things like that.
I've seen some vid, the new track doesn't look too insane. Old track is fun though, even on a pitbike you can't screw yourself up too badly.
My friends have been there, they said it's mostly tabletops, nothing you can't come up short and live. Just big jumps and high(er) speed track. Like I said, probably start on the old track, see how I'm feeling and how many people are there. I'm not that good in the dirt, so I try not to get in the way.
My first time there I was on my 70, they sent me out with the wee lil 5 to 8 year olds on their two stroke 50s and 65s. I looked like a total goon towering over them at the gate. (Likely freaked a few parents out too...) Had a total ball. One kid decided to hold up a bit and 'show me the line' for a few laps. You should have seen the grin on his face when we came off at the end of our session, went right to his parents to tell them how he schooled the big kid.
Another good track is MX207. Long and varied.
207 is fun, been there a few times. You must've been pretty much WFO the whole time on the mini! That track has some pretty fast sections; my 250F was pretty much tappped on the back straight, and close in a couple other spots.
I've been to MX207 before, I really really liked that track. The back section was really fun wide open in 5th.
I normally ride at Jeff Wood's track 99% of the time. Might do a Crow Hill or MX207 here and there to spice it up.

ya I hope to ride alot/sort of alot before my first ride at southwick this year so I don't end up cruising around 1/4 throttle because I can't "hold on anymore" haha. Might still race crowhill tomorrow so I'll see you out there maybe, I'm gonna call Matt and see if he still plans on going and I probably will if its not gonna be rainy/crap
