I don't see the issue with not editing all your posts together...I don't really care to spend the time to edit all kinds of garbage together and quote 6 different people in one post...I just quote the person and create a 2nd post

this is gonna be a blast! now i need to practice SAND for the next 3mo![]()
Beta 200RR
Southwick is tricky because sand is hard to ride in. The more throttle you give it, the lighter the front end is and the easier it is to handle, so it is easier if you keep your speed up....but it also gets whooped out so it can be hard to go faster if you are not experienced.
The good part is there are no big jumps to clear. You can roll everything if you want to and even the bigger jumps don't give you much air. If you fall down you are landing in sand so it doesn't hurt as bad. Fall over in a turn and you probably won't even feel it.
Much easier to start racing at Southwick than at Central Village!![]()
Cool, thanks. Hopefully the classes I entered are not too entirely out of line (never ever and 250 hack, went with 250 hack even though i'm on a 125 because it's a least a hack class and I shouldn't be too worried about being in the way of the fast guys). I'm actually not worried about the jumps, a typical day of riding for me consists of riding to a pit and jumping all day. I do some trail riding too, just never been on a legit Mx track before.
One of the pits I ride with 6 is pretty sandy, and the sand can get deep and soft in places. I think some practicing out there is in order. I know what you mean about staying on the throttle in the sand to keep the front end light, seems like it's the only way to ride through that crap.
I'm really looking forward to it![]()

if anyone who hasn't ridden tracks wants a legit practice track, try out crowhill in Templeton, MA. There is at least a little sand and just decent practice with some jumps/berms/flat turns etc

+1, the sand section at CH is short but the obstacles are good practice. i'm hoping to get there a lot more often this season, too close and cheap to not take advantage of.

Signed up and got an email about all of you guys signing up and mostly riding 2-strokes. Dude suggested moving from hack to keeping it real. I will probably switch. Who else is riding a 2-stroke?
I switched from 450 Hack to Keepin it real.
Yah, I just made the switch... Done. Hope there is not a lot of fast guys in that race From all my racing experience anything with the word open=fast dudes.
That was my concern as well, but there are enough of us squids for us to have fun in the back of the pack.![]()
Well, heres the email I got from Dave. I sent him a link to this thread, maybe he'll stop in. He has a very valid point. A lot of us are running two strokes, for $15, not a bad idea to run another class. Thoughts?

Got your info. Please fill out these forms and send them back to me with your balance. I will confirm your number when I get the paperwork from you - first come first served.
Hey - do you know Andy, Dan, Justin, Craig, etc?
You guys all have 2 strokes and non of you are racing the Keeping It Real Class - the 2 stroke open... You guys are blowing it - this is a class I designed for you guys bc nobody else has 2 strokes anymore - believe me I know, I was one of the last hold outs...
Look - you guys do what you want, but this class is empty so it would be mostly you guys so it would be like your own personal class right now. Plus you could, since you are there to ride your brains out, just add it as an extra class for $15 - I purposely made it cheap so you guys would get tons of riding in - your call - what ever you are most comfortable with
Just fill out the paperwork with what you want to do and let me know
Either way - stoked to have you join us!
