One question....why would someone wear a chest protector without a helmet?![]()
What's with all the negativity? Give the guy a break he's sharing with you.
Jesus.
Because here in the northeast, we are losing riding spots every year. People get pissed when they see shit like this (and I only watched the first 32 seconds of it...can't imagine it gets better). That video leaves a disgusting image that the offroad community does not need at the moment!

I'm not a gear nazi or anything, ride your own ride but I can't imagine wearing no helmet and a pair a jordan's on a dirtbike in the woods haha.
No brain, no need for a helmet!
No helmets. No registrations. No good.
yeah, long videos with reggaeton music, with only 5% of it being riding, water spots on the lense, nobody wearing gear, people aren't really ripping or anything, and you have to speed up the video to avoid looking slow...that video sucked
sorry, the ricans failed
oh, and nothing personal - but videos that "aren't so great" have been posted here before, but we know the riders. We don't even know your friends, so it's 10x more likely we won't like it

I made it two minutes and still can't figure out what the fuck you're all doing...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I just had a dance party to this video.

When it started I was just waiting for the music to change just a tad and then everyone is dancing in banana suits and shit, a la Harlem Shake.
Then it just got sad and long.

I cant imagine riding without a helmet. The off-road crashes I've miraculously walked away from would have killed or seriously maimed me if it wasn't for a helmet and gear.
Friend: man riding this really hurts my balls
Me: Well you're not supposed to sit on your balls!
You boys got receipts for those bikes?
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
im pretty sure that track in in chicopee ma.

I got dizzy watching it...
There is a much unspoken etiquette that applies to dirt riding around this area (and others). We have spoken about this on this forum before. These guys look like decent folks - I see no bad language, alcohol or drug references in the clip. What I do see is some folks with no helmets, no boots, and no registrations. I also see a fairly large group of guys riding round and around, over and over in a small area, in what looks to be a "tolerated" area. All of these things will call unwanted attention to the area, and are considered No-No's. Activity like this can and will get that area shut down permanently. I also see a U-Haul and a truck parked in what looks to be a rather residential neighborhood. I hate to say it, but I foresee trouble for these guys, if they keep it up.
FWIW - It looked like, at around the 2 minute mark, one of the guys crashed. Good thing he did not get hurt badly! If one of those guys sustains a serious head injury back there, the area will definitely be shut down for good - and all of the local riders will lose out - not to mention the monetary, legal, and emotional issues that his family will have to endure.
At a minimum, wear a helmet, boots, gloves, and eye protection. Don't "camp out" - get moving, and stay moving. Ride out as far as you can, turn around if you must, and ride back. Make a long loop if possible. Keep engine noise to a minimum whenever you can even see a house. Never, ever linger, or do "donuts" in the middle of a track! Even if it is a make-shift one! Always ride as if there is another rider coming at you that you cannot see, or a hiker, or a horse. Leave nothing but tracks, and try to keep those to a minimum. I recommend much smaller groups. 2 or 3 riders at the most.
Be *Safe*. Be *Quiet*. Be *Legal*. Be *Considerate*. Overuse has destroyed most of the area's in this state, IMO. Unfortunately, I do not know of any good place for a mixed group like in the video (bikes and ATV's). Maybe one of the State Forests? Crow Hill?
+1 GregP on keeping it moving. We're in danger of losing a lot of "tolerated" riding in the area surrounding Franklin Town Forest. The reason - people are choosing to park where they shouldn't, (within 1 mile of the designated parking area) then ride around and around and around their vehicles. Landowners get pissed off and call the EPA, and the rest is history.
