I need a new offroad helmet soon, but I'm proabbly going to go with the Arai supermoto helmet with the flip up visor. If I go to Daytona, i'm gonna stop at helmetshop.com and buy it there![]()

I cant seem to get a title from the kid I purchased the bike from..I dont know what to do...The bike was originally purchased by a friend of mine..But it has changed a few hands since he got rid of it..I dont know if I can legally ride the quad..Its pretty frustrating..any suggestions?. what exactly do I need to get a plate?

It's a quad rite?
I don't think you need the title to register it?
I know you don't in Maine, not sure about Mass and New Hampshire? The only legal ATV quad riding in Mass is in the western part of the state and the trails close for the season this weekend![]()

i have the same helmet as well, same color even. its a nice lid.
i just sold my quad to a guy in mass. to register it in mass you need a bill of sale and certificate of origin. nh all you need is bill of sale.
the blasters a good quad, lots of hop-ups for it. you might want to go bigger after awhile like a banshee if you like the 2 strokers.

You need to buy it new to get one or the original buyer should have had it? Not sure if you can get a duplicate CO from Yamaha?Originally posted by Ecooke21

Also, Yamaha finance does NOT hold titles/CO's so if that's the previous owners excuse, that'sI've bought and financed ennough Yamaha's and know that system pretty well

Well, as I said previously..I dont think I will be able to get any documents(other than a bill of sale)..He was NOT the original owner, And the quad has changed hands 3-4 times since he originally purchased it.. I guess I have to ride illegal, or buy a new raptor 700?![]()

Even buying a new quad, you're still limited to "legal" riding areas. Not saying there aren't any places to go and unload the thing and ride, but it's not "legal"There will be public land open to ORV use in RI but it may take 1 or 2 more years to get it.
You could buy a nice clean used YFZ450 for a very reasonanble price (even have the Yamaha Cert of Origin) and save over $3k![]()

re: CO
I believe Idiotboy was successful at obtaining a duplicate CO for his YZ400F. Didn't even take that long.
BUT, you don't need a CO. In MA, two items are required to reg a used ORV. A Bill of Sale, and a receipt from the Department of Revenue showing you paid sales tax. Oh, make that three -- you'll also need a personal check to pay for your sticker.

Thanks for the info Chris. How does the DOR determine the quad is mine? Whats to stop someone stealing a quad, then having a fake bill of sale drawn up...? How do they check its yours? The vin?..but what does that prove? Do they look to see if it was stolen, and if it wanst your all set??.. that seems alittle too easy to get a plate?I am going to do my best to get what I need, I dont like riding illegal

I think R7 can answer that question.Originally posted by Ecooke21

Yes, it is easy. I do believe the VIN is verified at the time of registration though.

I've never bought a used dirty toy so I have no idea what is checked and what isn't. Everything I've registered/had someone register was bought new and I had all the proper paperworkOriginally posted by ChR1s
