Round 7 of the 2025 JDAY OFFROAD AMA REGIONAL GP CHAMPIONSHIP MX207 Lyman, ME

    MOTO TIME BOYS!

I'm still pit crew chief, doubt Ill be able to race this year, arm is garbage, but healing.

Any tips for both kids getting their bikes stared in gear on the line? Had a no start for my sons moto as well as both my daughters motos. Tough race starting out 30 seconds behind....

Keep them brapped up till just before the flag drop? Idle, then kill before the drop? Is there some trick Im missing?

At this point both kids want to start in neutral and then drop it in gear. I wish I could give them better advice.

I suggested they both PRACTICE their dead engine starts, but of course they haven't since Southwick back in friggen april....

I was going to suggest they start in neutral. Lose a couple seconds on the shift?

I see a lot of the parents holding up the rear tire off the ground and winding out the engine while it's in gear to clear it out right before gate drops. Maybe that helps?

I'll be doing a double header in Winchester this weekend on the mx track.

Yeah, I guess we will try that. I really want to see them both get good start.

I've tried winding the engine out and it didn't seem to help.

Good luck in Winchester! It's gonna be a hot one!

    HOT HOT HOT!

Kids killed it. Daughter had a pretty good crash and took a handlebar to the stomach, sore but she will be okay. Saw another kid SMOKE a tree and get caught under his bike, I picked his bike up off him and he was fine, I couldn't believe it.

Son ended up with a 6th place finish pee wee senior, 10th pee wee overall

Daughter got a 5th and a 4th, for a 4th girls overall. JUST missed 3rd place for that $75 contingency money

Great finishes for both of them, they really toughed it out in the heat
