    I'm making 4 extra mortgage payments this year so money is rather tight. And am having my bathroom done next month. And am in the process of paying off a bike. I'll see if I can find something to sell lol!

    Right now I am in a LPMI loan. My rate is 5.125%.

    I am currently paying $910 with interest and principal a month on my 30 year.

    I figured out how much extra I have to pay to get 20% equity in the house so I can refinance to a lower rate and go down to a 20 year.

    A 20 year will actually be cheaper by $50 a month as it will be $860 a a month with principal and interest.

    So that is why. Makes sense to me to sacrifice a year in order to take 6.5 years off my loan and save $$ in interest.
