I understand, Tony, and I will keep my eyes and ears open for anything that comes along.
I just need to find the Honda CRF230F that's been street legalized... they are out there, just hoping to find one in the Northeast.

I'll ship it to ya http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/mcy/3544739072.html
imho - I can see what you're trying to get with the unicorn (I honestly never saw any out in woosta when I lived there), but if it is possible, then you just gotta wait until one comes along...

Yeah, either would be great... Will have to check on street reg of the Allentown one.
I hope you find a Yamaha TW200 - the fat tire flier. Because I think they're cool so I could live vicariously through your experience.

VT doesn't require a title to register a vehicle less than 300cc's. If you need someone to "buy" it and register it up here I may know someone who would be more than happy to help you out. It'll need to make a trip up here to have the VIN verified by a police officer before registration but I usually have plenty of room in the trailer.

I left a message with the guy...IIRC, last time I shipped the FZR600 from MA -> CA, it cost me around $550...not sure if a dirtbike would be any cheaper, but if this is the unicorn ya want, we could at least look into it
if he takes a low ball offer, and (including shipping) it comes out to something you'd want, how much would ya spend total on it?
The Cali. bike is already priced high, so shipping would not help that out. I might have to go the VT route if nothing else pops up.
As for the TW200, they are great bikes - but not what we're looking for.
ya f- the cali guy...I talked to him today, he'd wiggle maybe $200 at best...add shipping and you can get 1-1/2 bikes for that kind of money
back on the hunt...
and FYI on CA: late 2003 they passed legislation that if the ?th digit of the VIN is a certain character, you could not street plate it without the official stamp on the exhaust that says it meets the federal highway emission standards. If you forged that emissions tag, you might face jail time. So newer than '03 might be hard to find...most of those will be -L models...
and why again are you hesitant on the VT route? not sure how to do it?

IIRC, Carlton had one and it sort of sucked on single track...but small, street legal, and clean!
M.O.M.s in Manchester has a TW200 used for sale. Ask for Jenn, the redhead that worked at Hudson cycle, she is up there now. Then we can all live vicariously through you.

hello
1994, electric start, street plated, Suzuki DR125se?

not a lot of info out there on it, but as I read on advrider, it shares a lot with the DR200se, so it's a medium size dual sport that goes 50-60mph. 12hp and very reliable, suspension sucks like any dual sport
whoa better...dr200se with 41 miles

Bhavesh, neither of those are dirt bikes. They're the kind of bikes they teach msf with sporting dirty clothes.

That NX250 was sold (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...ighlight=NX250)
I don't know what your budget is, but a 2012 TE250 would be a dirt bike that is slightly smaller than the standard dirt bike height. I still think a CRF230L is very capable with the right tires, skid plate, hand guards and gel battery. You can pick one up for $2500-3000. they are very small
