    Suspension work

What local place is everyone using these days? My gf want to go full tilt on her klx250 so complete rebuild front and rear with springs and valves. She doesn't want to send anything out so it has to be a place in New England she can drive to and drop off and pick up. She will pull the suspension herself so it's not the whole bike.

    Re: Suspension work

Jimmy is an independent mechanic, he does pretty good work. Been a while since I’ve had him do anything for me, give him a call and see if he’s setup to do full service suspension work.

Most suspension specific shops really don’t want to take the whole bike.

    Re: Suspension work

So today she has tried mm performance in carver. They just do strictly rebuilds, no performance options or tuning which tells me they don't have a suspension guy even though they bill.themselves as suspension experts. Cost was $250 so not terrible if you just want a rebuild
Then she tried TbT racing in bellingham. She thought it was a local type place but it's just a chain like racetech so she didn't like them. Eye watering $1200 for a performance rebuild which is several hundred more than a brand new ohlins.
I told her to check out factory connection. We shall see. I think she should just go down to racetech in CT and be done with it but she is insisting on finding a mom and pop type place.

    I forgot about factory connection!

Factory Connection adjusted sag and fork pressure in both kids bikes for free at a jday, and I thought that was pretty cool of them.

I’ve heard good things about Eric at Manchester KTM/Honda (authorized Racetech service center)

Yeah. All the local enduro guys use him. The owner that just retired is my neighbor too. Nice guy.

    Re: Suspension work

I hate to say it, but for performance upgrades, factory connection crushes the mom n pop places 90% of the time. They just have better R&D and volume of customers. THeir service and support is also top notch.

I sourced my WP shock for my V-strom thru Factory Connection (Ziggy the owner is a neighbor) and had my local dealer install it, when they ran into a problem (came with reservoir on wrong side) Factory Connection made a house call to my dealer

Suspension went to TBT today for a full rebuild and upgrade where possible. We shall see how they turn out.
