Hmm, it's one of the questions like what oil should I run?
I like the Dunlop 756, seems like a great all around tire to me. Keep in mind that if you hit up the ORV areas, you'll want a tire that will clean itself of mud with a quick blip of the throttle. The closer the knobs, the harder they are to self clean.
I put a D739 on the rear of my KTM and a D756 on the front. The 739 wears like iron but doesn't rid itself of mud all that great. The 756 on the rear of my YZ sticks like glue (more like rips the stumps out of the trails) and self cleans very well. They do seem to wear down quicker though.
I'm thinking of trying a trials tire next on the KTM, everyone seems to rant and rave about them for NE trails. Only downfall from what I've read is they don't self clean for shit

Not gonna try the pirellis from my Crf wheels?

I like the D739 i had it on my Honda last season. Lasted most of the season. It was a good all around tire. On the Yamaha i have M202's I like those a lot. but they do not seem as versatile as the Dunlops. Tires are tough, a bad choice can really F*** with your season. I hear really good things about maxis but have not tried them yet, but i think thats what i will run this year.
I like my Pirelli M16/18(?) combo for all things new england.

I run Kenda Washougal stickys on front, Carlsbad rear. Front sticks like glue (better than the 756) and the rear works really well. Yes, they wear out a little quicker than Dunlops or Michelins, but they also cost about $100 a set from Motosport Outlet.
You should get one of these for the rear

I swear by it. The price on there is way high too. You can get it for like 65 bucks.
Oh and yeah it's a trials tire!!!

Are you running a trials tire now? There's a thread on NEDB about a deal on them?

Also a cool little video that demonstrates how and why they work so well around here

I'm running the trials tire on the woods bike a KTM250exc and frikin love it. I've been riding with a few guys in NH here and we ride woods, root's rocks. granite, mud type shit and they are all skeptical at first and then when they see how it grips they are all like "wow dude guy buddy that tire really hooks up"

What are you running for a front? I'm going with a trials rear next time for sure. What kinda pressure are you running and any flat problems? Guy that's sick dude![]()
Yamaha
I'm running the MT16 up front.
I runt the thick ass heavy duty moose tubes. I never get flats. I do carry irons a pump and a patch kit just in case though!!!
For pressure I run 18 if I know I'm going woods only. If I'm going out hooliganing in the city i will run 25 ish.
