A lot of it depends on how you ride, weather conditions, how your bike is jetted or mapped, tire condition, etc...
For a comparo, I can get 120 miles per tank on my TL-R. When I use THAT for track days, I'm refilling every 50-60 miles. Admittedly, the map I have in it isn't exactly MPG friendly...
But I HAVE seen people to the day on one tank...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Don't let Gas stop you from doing a track day! That's like saying you won't date a supermodel because you might fart. (well, maybe not) Gas is available easily enough, but you won't need it on a VFR. (I have one)
As far as experience goes, unless you're so new that you have to think about shifting or can't take corners at normal street speeds, then you should be fine for track day. We had several quite new riders at the last track day and they did fine.
In the meantime, take an MSF course if you haven't already! This is the best way to get you up to speed, skills-wise.
Also, we don't "Teach" anything particular at track day. We are available to help, but track days are mostly rideing events where you can explore your limits without cops, potholes, sand, etc.
ok, ok.... so i was being a drama queen![]()
if i can scrape together the money for it, you guys may see me there... but man... 200 bucks for a college grad that still doesn't have a job in his field is alot, espeically when i threw about 70% of my life savings at the bike.... and still have to throw money at some maintinance stuff & riding gear (that actually fits properly)
we'll see... i have plenty of time to decide and still make the "early bird special" rate![]()

Regarding the Scrubbing in tires comment...
Do you realize that racers take one lap to scrub in tires? That's 1.6 miles.
I just put new tires on my GoldWing streetbike. Within 3 miles of my house I was fully leaning over.
People are WAY too concerned about scrubbing in tires. There's really nothing to it.

Tony's Track Days
FYI, the cutoff date is July 11th for any kind of "group buy".
If you get a list together of at least 10 people, then the price will be $175 per person. The LIST and MONEY have to be in by JULY 11th.
One person from NESR needs to take the point and gather the list. I need full names and email addresses.
That person can either collect the money, or each person on the list can send individually. Either way... payment has to be in by July 11.
If you are not part of the group buy... the price is $200 now. $225 after July 11th. I expect to be SOLD OUT so it probably doesn't matter, but if not, it would be $250 at the door.
Questions? Please post them here.
(but PLEASE read the website first... I believe you'll find the answers). Use the link in my SIG file to go to the website.
Thank you.
I will be organizing a payment to Tony for the August trackday so PM me for my address if you are interested.

Yeah, I'll be there as well. Btw, guys, if you haven't checked the rates at the Red Roof they are pretty cheap.

Textile is fine. All the info is on the tonystrackdays.com site.
I've ridden to trackdays before and I live 2.5 hours away. It was no big deal. I'd say at least 5 riders per track day ride there, others trailer. You just want to make sure you don't crash.![]()
Well, I have full leathers and race boots
I have an interview for a job tomorrow, and will know if I have it next week. I'd start the 5th or 6th, and would know about days off then.
If I can get the time off, I'm inI'll stay at the RedRoof the night before, and will have to coordinate someone with extra gas for the pig

Tony, can we send in the $175 now, directly to you? Or what's the right way...
For those of you trying to save on this. There is campgrounds around the track. It's cheaper to stay over there. You can also split a room with someone. Or you can sleep in your car/van, there is showers at the track so you can get refreshed before you leave the track to go home.![]()

The price is $200 unless someone makes a "group buy".
The list above is just a list of names of people that are going... some of whom I believe have already sent in payment alone (for $200)
To do a "group buy", someone needs to take point and collect all the names and email addresses and send those to me. The people can then send their money direct and reference the group buy name.
I believe there is another thread for collecting those names below this one?

You have to send your money to Kevin and then he'll send it all to Tony.
This thread is for people who are going!
