Who's in?
Who's on the fence?
My boss said that I can have the day off. Gosh, I loved her right then. There, it passed.
I, myself am on the fence.
But leaning...

Going to be getting new tires within the next couple weeks. So will have to get them scrubbed in. With work that might be hard. As per the norm, work days good weather, off days shitty weather.....
On top of that it'll be my first track day....

19xx DOUBLE "D"
(sold) 02 CBR600 F4i (track bike)
06 Chevy Supercharged Cobalt SS

Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I'll be there!
Probably not again this year, but I should get my daycare license pretty soon!!! (they told me they went thru the paperwork already, yeah!) so that mean a paycheck will start coming in sooner or later and I hope to be able to put money aside. I want to try to do one trackday a year, that would be awsome!![]()

I really, REALLY want to do a track day, but I've got the typical "don't want to wreck the bike" gitters and I don't have a way to bring extra gas with me.Pretty feeble excuses... ok...I should be signed up within the next couple of weeks.

i agree w/ you 100%... but i would THINK that in order to best take advantage of a track day you have concentrate on learning what they're teaching & not worry about making the occational dumb mistake newbies like myself often make.... ie, you have to be able to opperate the bike naturally & smoothly each & every moment w/o really thinking about it. I dunno, I could be wrong.Originally posted by Stoneman

bottom line is: i'd love to go, i'm a decently fast learner & i'm sure i'd learn a hell of alot... but i don't know if i can concentrate on what they're teaching enough to take full advantage. Though come mid-august, I may change my mind![]()
what's the average amount of riding experience people have the first time they go?

If you bring your bike, gas it up in the morning on the way from the hotel to the track, etc.. there is no way you'll run the tank dry by the end of the day. (Just saying that for a VFR, not for all bikes)

Have you tried an entire track day without refueling or are you speculating?Originally posted by benSV

You will if you have an RC51 ! This thing is a Pig! I managed to get 145 Miles on my last track Day (April) and the piggy needed gas at 107 Miles....Originally posted by benSV

It's very rare to get that much track time, so if your bike can get say over 120 miles in a full tank you'll be all set for the day!

They open the gas pumps up in the afternoon, but its hi test race fuel,at $4.00 a gallon. But most people up there have plenty of extra fuel to help you out if needed.
I can faithfully get 200-220 out of a tank with some more to spare. As long as it's not a big faux pas, to buy some gas off another track day participant, I certainly wouldn't mind paying a few bucks to make sure I don't sit out the last couple sessions!![]()

Looks like I'll be bringing gas along. I'll be lucky to get 100 miles before needing to refuel.![]()

Cant exactly remember but I think I rode 137 or 138 miles at the last track day.So you should be good. We still brought 5 extra gallons per bike. Just ask and we'll give you a splash if needed.
