re: Tamworth
I'll second this. They're a new track and are still controversial with the townsfolk so they're bending over backwards to be good neighbors. Every single bike is sound-tested before it's allowed on the track. This year was a little looser in that they'd give you a personal sound-based rev limit instead of just failing you outright but they have a meter on the straight so you'll still get bounced if you exceed the limit on the fly.
I got black-flagged in 2017 so I put in a db-killer over the winter which cut the noise and didn't cost me any power so I leave it in all the time now.
THE AMAZING MOVING SCHEDULE UPDATE POST for 2019
With some forum software, after 60 days you can't edit posts. So this post will be updated periodically and moved to the bottom of the thread.
Only showing independent track day organizations here. NYST also runs its own events, sometimes on the same day as a track day org. Visit NYST | New York Safety Track for their schedule.
Post up which days and what group you'll be riding in, and I'll edit the post to reflect.
Red means confirmed, paid commitment
Blue means intent, yet to be confirmed
TTD/Razee as of January 2, 2019:
Heads up... Tony's pricing rewards advance planning. Membership is expensive compared to other organizations, but it gives you a hefty discount throughout the season. The membership pays for itself if you attend five days. It's always worked well for me; the tradeoff is the need to commit ahead of time to at least that many if you want it to pay off.
Tony has always offered pay-in-advance cash discounts. When you attend, bring cash in an unsealed envelope to pay for the next event. Same for memberships: way cheaper if you pay in cash for next year before the end of the season. Add up the pay-in-advance membership savings and grab the per-day cash discount throughout the season, and it pretty much pays for a whole track day at member rates.

I'd do it if I can get my wakethedead RC8 to pass sound check.

I spent $100 and hours of time tracking down DB killers for my 749R just to ride Tamworth again. I'm not paying that much though. The track is nice but ts not THAT nice. Ill go to Calabogie including all expenses for less than $720.

Funny thing is it actually pales in comparison price wise to Yamaha champion school or doing a track day in Austin.

On the wrong side of the supply-demand curve for me, given how many great tracks are both much closer and much less expensive.
If the northeast track renaissance of the last few years (arrival of NYST, Thompson and Palmer) hadn't happened it'd be different. The Northeast would be served by Loudon and that's it. Different picture... given only the choice between those two, then yeah, I'd do it. But not with things the way they are.

Another thing that could be playing into it is that the days fall during "bike week" so maybe they are banking on that in some way

You have to factor in the market base. Yes, some will pay it, but will enough pay it? There are only so many track riders in the catchment area and only so many of them who will or can pay 2.5x what an NYST day costs. Its a balance and exclusivity only comes into play if you can fill the event. 100 people at $250 is better than 60 at $360.

It will sell out. The last day they did sold out. The track is honestly awsome and the views from the access road are stunning.

Worked for Circuit of America. I remember seeing people selling their spots on ebay for a very increased profit.
Not sure how many tracks in the Austin area. I know they had limited track days at that facility, though. Probably helps it has the draw of racing there, as well.

Supply/demand... when things are brand-new, it often strays over into what I like to call "the law of supply and idiots."
You see it all the time with big-ticket items. A car company comes out with a much-anticipated hot new model and there are those who will gladly fork over thousands above MSRP just for the "privilege" of being the first on the block. Wait a year and the cost comes down to reality. Wait two years and you'll find discounts.
I'm old enough to remember the insanity surrounding Cabbage Patch dolls. Same stupid thing.
This will happen with these new tracks. Good for them for charging what the market will bear while they can. But sooner or later people will no longer be willing to pay through the nose and the prices will fall.
