Anyone have a recommendation for a good canopy to use when pitting outdoors? Preferably cheap and able to find locally?
Fukin Turkey.....
99 dollar walmart special has held up for me quite well.

Wifey picked ours up from CVS or some a-typical place like that for $80 couple years ago. Works for us.
I have a cheapo dick's canopy. Works well enough. But then I'm not jumping out of planes with it
My Walmart canopy works ok. It barely leaks when it rain...![]()
They all suck. Find the cheapest and treat it like a newborn.
A newborn you'll throw in the trash and replace as needed.

I have a Walmart special that tries to collapse if someone sneezes. The hardware is feeble grade 1 garbage and bends too easy. Ended up making a supports out of 3/4" metal conduit to keep the sides from caving in so I could make it through the year. When this one is dead, i will spend real money for a real piece of gear.
I guess I think differently. If you buy a good one it will last many years.
There is a huge difference in the quality and strength between the $100 and the $350 (and up).
And when you no longer need it, you can probably sell it for $100.
I'm with Tony. Spend the money on a good canopy. Don't forget... think of the lineset too. Is it HMA, Microline, Vectran? How many jumps? Different canopies will react differently to different sets of lines. Also, where was it jumped? I love Eloy too, but I don't necessarily want to buy a canopy that's been stuffed into the desert sand for 500 jumps. Did the previous owner untwist his brake lines regularly? Or are they a frayed mess? Just some stuff to consider. Good luck and Blue skies...
Is it uncool to refer to your canopy as a parachute?

We bought Shelter Logic from Tractor Supply for $100. They have models from $80 to $400.

Ocean State Job Lot has E-Z up brand for 70-80 bucks.

Harbor Freight has their normally $99 10'x10' canopy on sale for $59. I imagine demand is pretty low with single digit temps.....

i have one of these thats a few years old that we used at the pats game last weekend in the rain and it worked just fine...if i buy another i will go for one with sides so i can put a little curtain in the corner with a bucket for a bathroom so we don't have to wait in the shitter lines plus help cut down on the wind
I have one that is still good shape if some one wants to take off my hands for 40 bucks....
hmmmm......
i have had my EZ-UP for the better part of a decade. just last season the top got a tear in it. i may just replace the top or just repair the hole with some heavy duty canvas
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...
