OK now that my season is over, I want to upgrade to aftermarket rearsets, and better brake lines. What is the standard for bike (GSXR1000 08), in a reasonable price range. Not too cheap, but not AMA competion prices either.
For rearsets I'd say woodcraft, granted I don't have them or like them but you could probably find a set cheap and replacements are easily found but I'll stick with my gilles. Brake lines galfer or spiegler (sp) although my galfer superbike lines tend to rust up at the caliper so when I replace them I'll probably go with spiegler.
Either woodcraft or Vortex are excellent choices for rear sets. Good quality and replacement parts are readily available. In regards to brake lines, I personally use Spiegler but Goodrich and Galfer are reliable choices as well. On our bikes, brake lines are definitely an improvement, but the master cylinder is the biggest weakness. If you can swing it, get an Accossato or Brembo mc. The difference will be huge! Good luck!
I once saw a set of vortex rearsets shatter like glass on a 1000rr, I'd stay away imho.
Thnx G21forme, I was thinking Woodcraft as well. And, I have seen Pimps Cry.....
