Anyways thanks again for the info everyone, you all convinced me. Maybe I'll see some of you on the 3rd! I ordered a universal insert that I'll bring with me just in case. I did one last WOT test with my phone and it came in around 88.

I'm on a DRZ so top speed isn't my thing anyway. At NHMS I think I saw 87 as a top speed on my old DRZ, it's the corners I'm interested in

The inserts work OK to drop the dB a little. It won't make it as quiet as a stock street exhaust but it will make a difference. To be on the safe side at Palmer or Tamworth I just limit the revs through the section they are measuring. I doubt you'll have a problem. As the others have said the track is a blast either way they run it. Have fun.

That's my plan. If it's true that they're measuring on the straight section, then I have no problem either short shifting or just not winding it out. I have nothing to prove as far as top end speed on this bike.

When I was there, they were measuring after turn 5. Pretty sure that's the corner. Its a right and then a left all up hill, so kind of hard to not be on the throttle. Especially on a small hp bike.

You seriously shouldn't even worry about it though. Just ride normal. If your bike is too loud, they'll let you know and then you can address it.

You should just go. I'm sure you'll be fine. They test it from the side of the track, so it's at a distance. I'll also specify, I didn't get kicked out. I ran the whole day. They just spoke to me three or four times throughout the day.

I'm sure your bike is quieter than mine. I was also riding in the advanced group ringing my bike out, so not sure what your pace is.

If I was willing to dog it through that one spot, they probably wouldn't have said anything to me. You should go. That track is very fun. Especially on a motard. The straight was a little long for it, but everywhere else is fine. The downhill, sweeping left in the back section is crazy fun on a motard too. You can carry so much speed.

Sam-you werent dogging it through that section, that was your flat-out pace. (FIRST POST IN YEARS FOR THIS GUY)

If you measured out that low, I would go. In a weird coincidence, I just got an email that my Fastway billet endcap/sparkarrestor/dblimiter just shipped. It was on backorder for a month from motosport.com. It was stupidly expensive, but looks nice.

My end cap/spark arrest/db killer just arrived. It's modular and can be run in different configurations. It's heavy, but looks like it will make a real difference. Hope the bike runs ok.

Dang. Mine is installed. It's still pretty loud, but i think it barks a little less. I'll know more after a ride.

Ok. Ride done. It has quieted the bike a fair amount. And it runs better. It's a keeper.
