We understand the nerousness that new track day riders feel. We felt it once, too.
Remember that you won't be alone as a newbie. Typically, we have around 20-30 new TD riders every event. The instructors are trained to cater to you so you can feel as comfortable as possible getting onto the track.
I'll see you in the AM in your initial classroom session that covers procedures, etc.

Dont be nervous! I bought my 06 gixxer 750 and only rode it on the street like you did.
I had no problems at all. You will feel at home.
If all else fails, Lean more....

As for bumping, the first person to speak to is your group instructor and/or Control Riders.
The general rule is pretty simple though.
If you are doing all the passing and never getting passed... it's time to bump.
In bumping from RED to YELLOW group, however, it's not just about speed. You need to demonstrate intimate knowledge of "the line" and also the ability to ride safely with others.
Any squid can hammer down the straights in RED group and say, "I'm passing everyone".
All too often, people are too anxious to get out of RED. If you're smart, you'll use RED groups relaxed atmosphere to really pinpoint your line and improve your basic riding skills.

It looks like the worst case is a few showers for Mon and Tues.
Which is great... cuz then you get a couple of wet sessions in to practice those skills too!
