I want to make some noise but i'm not sure what to do![]()
I passed up a good deal on a set of Ti Force slip-ons with the mid pipe to get rid of the cat at the last race weekend, i'm kicking myself in the ass for it now![]()
What do you think of THIS mod that someone has done from the R1-forum? I do like the look of the stock pipes over pretty much all the aftermarket brands anyways. It's also much less than a set of slip-ons and has a nice clean factory look![]()
What do you think
Poor thing is just sitting there wanting some attention![]()

i bought a spare set and did this mod.
there's a pic of mine in this thread.
i installed yosh internals.
i like to ride the bike in it's power band and think there too loud.

...didn't know LDH had an R1 too...
I definatly like the look of all the factory undertail exhausts better than all the aftermarket undertail exhausts.![]()

A lot of them simply look like a skinny guy trying to pass a 15# turd, and its stuck 1/2 way out.

I think i'm gonna give it a try. Maybe i'll get those little side covers painted red to match the bike too? Or black?
Yamaha
if you want to try them out, let me know.
once it's warm again, come by the shop and i can install them in less than 10 minutes.
iv'e been swapping between these and the stock ones depending on my mood and who i'm riding with.
btw: they will pop a lot on deceleration if you don't have a power commander

Cool, thanks for the offer Jim. If i like them, i'm probably going to do the same and have a extra set to swap out.
Sadly most of my riding will be commuting to work so i'm not overly worried about making any noise on my all highway commute to work![]()
Yamaha
no problem
once it's warm we can test them out on the sssl (secret south shore loop)
i think you did part of it with me and craig a couple of years ago.
i cant remember, was that the day the guy got hit by the bird and went into the woods?

A lot of people do this on VFRs with undertail exhaust.. I've thought about it as the aftermarket cans are way too expensive and they don't look as good.
Seems like it is fairly straightforward.
Yup, i remember that loop, that was pretty fun. I think you had a ZX9 then? I was surprised to see riding like that in that areaOriginally posted by sandman

I've been on that loop twice and both times something happened, was that the day the guy left and got a ride to the emergency room?
Have you ever heard from craig again? Every time i talked to him he said that R1 was going to get the 100k miles test, wonder if he still has it?
Yamaha
yup that was the year of the zx9
i've expanded the loop since then.
the last time i heard from craig was in 02. as i recall he still had the r1 and was racing a r6.
we lost the last rider. when we got to the end of the road we had a new last rider and he wasn't sure where the guy behind him went. we rode back and found the bike in the woods but couldn't find him. i called the local pd, when they showed up we eventually found out he had been hit by a bird, went off the road and was picked up by someone in a car.
