so its time to trade in my tricked out 05 600rr for a 1000. im looking for some input. what bike should i get. I like to wheely and drive hard.
and you actually have to ask?
Gixxer 1k
Too old to rock and roll, too young to die.
Like to stunt and ride hard? You SHOULD look no further than a street going motard. Or some liter sized naked bike. Fully faired sportbikes are designed to keep both wheels on the ground.
BUT what looks cooler to all the hotties on the sidewalks? Why do you really want it?![]()
I'd definitely look into the new GSXR 1k's. Few of my friends with them and love them. Plus the 07 comes with different maps that are user adjustable, and apparently come in kind of handy, depending on how much oomph you are looking for.![]()
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
buy the newest cycle world. they have the master bike shoot out
from that info i would buy the new 10r they say it has the best low and mid range
also the gixxer is the heaviest
~ Life passes most people by while they're busy making grand plans for it.~
i don't know about that. normally when the high way has little or no traffic then i do it over 100. feels safe to me.
observation: white boys around here go with gixxer. asian goes with R1, duc. and kawasaki. can't figure that out.
whatever looks good to you. don't worry about power. it's plenty.
"fuckit!"
Just slap a NOS system on your 600. It's cheaper than a new bike.
Gixxer has my thumbs up. Its a liter and its bloody fast. Rev it up to 13k and your looking at 160ish WHP. The power modes are fun if you want to rev the motor like you would on a 600. I used "C" mode at the track and I'd peg 2nd gear alot and use 3rd in a few spots. That wouldn't happen in "A" mode. "A" mode on the straight I'd probable never even see 3rd gear, well, I probably would have used it at all. Over all I'm happy with it but I miss my 600 to be honest. One thing I don't miss is waiting for the 600 to make power.![]()
look at the reply above.
it's not bad or good. just notice what apeal to certain type of people mostly.
"fuckit!"
if i recall the 07 review of the gsxr1000 in roadracing world mentioned it's 13lbs heavier than last year (um... what ever happened to "light-makes-right"?) and having a button on the left handlebar that makes the bike slower for when you want less power (er... you bought a liter bike and you want to make it slower? wtf?!?). the article was called "jumping the shark" as they said, it's still impressive, but not as much as last years
having said all that i've never ridden one. i did ride a 05 or 06 (stupidhawk, help?) cbr1000rr and was _very_ impressed by it, blindingly fast and amazing stable.
in the end you should go sit on each one. one of them will feel better/more comfortable than the others. buy that one.

2012 Ducati Streetfighter 848 (retarded fun)
does it really matter? you can't buy a bad liter bike in 07. go sit on each of them at the local dealership, make engine noises for afew minutes and go from there. or just pic the one that you think looks the best. trust me you won't have to worry about being dissapointed by any of them
Whichever one has the most aftermarket chrome pieces available. You gots to be mad visible when tearing up dope wheelies.

I love my Gixer K6
But if you ride the back roads solo I would go with
a hypermotard
950 KTM or the new Duc
they are the real New England solution
They just weren't here when I had to buy

If you're into stunting, just buy a bigger sprocket for the 600.
Also, +1 on the street motard bit. I've never undertood why stunters dont ride motards, they seem infinitely more adept at what stunters are looking for - light weight, good power to weight ratio, crashability, etc.
