Since when has honda started taking styling cues from early model Buells? Can't say that I'm a fan, it looks bulky and anything but razors edge performance.

The stubby tail section is derived from the idea that crosswinds affecting this area while cornering were hampering the racers ability to win races (or something like that). But I think it looks terrible and don't really care.
As this year showed, the racers not winning had more to do with the tail section dimensions......

Rumors have it that the new 1000RR's curb weight (fully fueled and ready to go) is roughly 40 pounds lighter than the GSXR1K...with the same HP.

Rumors...but still...ugly or not that's awesome.

They're also offering HRC kit parts at reduced prices direct from Honda dealers for the 1000RR.

Styling cues are funny. The Duc999 is God-Awefull ugly in photos but I like it in person. I'm hoping that this bike is the same way.

I looks better in black but I still don't like it. I'd like to see one in person though just to know if it's looks any better.

I'm sure it's just the angle of the pic but the the front looks really flat and the windscreen looks steep sorta like the v-strom.

EDIT: aparently i am interweb stupid, so imagine a pic of an anniversary edition R6 front end here...

as far as the 1krr....i actually kinda like it minus 2 things: the multi colored paint sheme where the tank is a seperate color as the rest of the fairings, theres no blending of the colors over the fairings, looks kinda like someone just threw different colored plastics on there...and the front end, even though i like the headlights, looks empty, too much blank plastic there

I dont like the tail or the pipe, lets hope the rumors of the power increase and weight reduction are correct or i doubt we will be seeing that many on the street, honda need a new designer for next years bike.

I have no idea about the looks. Almost every freeking motorcycle I see looks cool to me...in some way...so, I suppose I have no taste! I always get lost when heated discussions about aesthetics get going.

What I wonder about is performance...track and street. Form follows function is my guide....

Don't worry Jeff, I'm sure there's some 07 Ninja 250's around at dealers. When you buy an 07 Nina 250 it now comes with a free Izod shirt, a Members Only jacket (signed by Duran Duran), a pair of parachute pants, and a Betamax version of the movie Thriller. Just like when it was new.
